Now the photographer behind this iconic picture, Matt Porteous, has revealed to Hello! magazine that Duchess Catherine herself always helps to capture the perfect shot.
"Catherine's style very much suits the country setting we were in and the light was perfect for a few minutes before the sun set behind the trees," Matt revealed.
He then explained: "Catherine has an incredible eye for style, she knows what will look best in these scenes which makes my life easy.”
And it seems Catherine’s photography skills are also admired by the experts, as Matt went on to add: “Catherine is an amazing photographer, we have both shared tips on location and talked about light, settings and styles.”
"Catherine has an amazing eye for photos so will always point us in the right direction for light and backdrops," he continued. "I'm always looking for the best light and will work with this in every scene."
The light in Duchess Catherine’s recently shared picture is certainly stunning, with a wonderful warmth to it that illuminates her smiling face.
"It was taken as the last sunlight was shining over the treetops,” Matt revealed to the publication. “[I]t allows photographers to make use of direct sunlight without the model squinting, also giving a beautiful warm tone to the photograph."
In recent years, Duchess Catherine has shared her particularly heart-warming photographs of her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, often in tribute to special occasions.
And with April 23rd marking Duchess Catherine’s youngest child Prince Louis’ 3rd birthday, royal fans could perhaps get to see another beautiful picture this year.
