A member of the Silent Witness cast suffered a shocking attack on the evening of 10th August, when they were stabbed in the head by a man in a seemingly random attack.
Liz Carr, who plays scientist Clarissa Mullery in the popular BBC drama, was approached by a man in his 20s when she was with her carer outside of Euston Station.
The man attacked Liz, who is in a wheelchair, stabbing her with knives held in each of his hands. Liz's carer attempted to protect the pair from the vicious onslaught.
A friend of Liz's has reportedly spoken toThe Sunabout the horrifying experience, saying, "It was a terrifying experience for Liz. She was being pushed in her wheelchair when this young man armed with two pairs of scissors suddenly headed towards her."
Speaking about the fact that the attack could have been much worse, they continued, "There was blood everywhere but she was very lucky that the wound grazed her head and she was not more seriously injured.
"Typically, Liz is putting a brave face on it - joking that it was like being attacked by Edward Scissorhands."
45-year-old Liz was rushed to hospital, where she is said to be recovering from a slash wound on her head. Reportedly, the actress is now out of hospital.
Liz's co-stars from the hit BBC drama have also offered up their support to their fellow cast member, including lead actress Emilia Fox.
After a photo of the pair was shared by a fan account, Emilia responded to the tweet saying "Big love to @thelizcarr, one of the most phenomenal women alive, thank goodness!xx"
Speaking out for the first time since the accident, Liz responded to Emilia and the fan's messages, saying "Thank you for all the love today and always xxx"
So far, it's unclear why Liz was so viciously attacked - and the actress has said she didn't recognise the attacker and that she hadn't ever seen him before.
Of the attack, the Metropolitan Police released a statement, saying, "Police were called at 8.21pm on Thursday, August 10, to Euston Road, near to Euston station, to a reports of man attacking two women with scissors. One of the victims was in a wheelchair. She was with her carer who was the second victim.

"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the location. The two women were taken to hospital suffering minor cuts and subsequently discharged."
The statement also went some way to explaining the seemingly random attack, as they continued, saying, "A man - aged in his 20s - was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH.
"He was taken into custody at a north London police station. He was subsequently detained under the Mental Health Act. Enquiries continue."
Our thoughts are with Liz as she recovers.
