Larry Lamb has officially revealed that the cast of Gavin and Stacey have a Whatsapp group to keep in touch and lifts the lid on plans for a fourth series of the hit BBC show.
The 72-year-old actor brought back his much-loved character, Mick Shipman, in the Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special in December.
The revival was watched by more than 17 million people - making it the most-watched TV comedy since Only Fools and Horses in 2002.
And Larry confessed that such fantastic news was celebrated in the cast Whatsapp group: "The Whatsapp chat that we've got going on between us... everyone was saying, 'We've just got 18million viewers!'"
Even James Corden - who hosts The Late Late Show in America - chimes in on occasion, according to Larry.
"James Corden is always a bit late you know because he’s always working and is eight hours behind," he told Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan during his appearance on Tuesday.
"He’s always on there. It’s like he’s got a special button or something that says, 'Wake up, there’s a WhatsApp message, you better get in'."
Co-writers James Corden, who plays Smithy, and Ruth Jones, who plays Nessa made the decision to bring the show back last Christmas after nine years off air. And it even went on to win the Impact Award at the 2020 National Television Awards. But it's only left fans desperate for a fourth series.
"I spoke to James on the phone the other day," Larry confessed. "He said he spent 10 years trying to tell people there might be another Gavin And Stacey, now we’ve done another Gavin And Stacey everyone is asking the same question again."
When asked what that could look like, George Lamb's father added, "I guess his options are to either do another series or to do an annual Christmas special? He’s got to write it as well."
Larry's on-screen wife Alison Steadman - who plays Pam Shipman - said filming the Christmas special was like a "family reunion".
She told OK!, "I really was quite nervous about it because expectations are so high. I thought, 'Can I do it again? Can I get the character back properly?' But as soon as we were all back together it was just like a family reunion. At the end we were all really sad to say goodbye."
While it sounds like Alison had a ball filming the Christmas special, one person against there being another series of Gavin and Stacey is Uncle Bryn actor Rob Brydon - who thinks the gang should end on a high.

He told Heat magazine, "There are no plans whatsoever and personally I would say leave it where it is, with people wanting more.
"Everyone is saying, 'you must want to do more' but I'd much rather leave it on a high and it's really hard to come back after 10 years and to make something as popular as it has been because you can get it wrong."
