Chill out with this calming and uplifting antioxidant rich smoothie. The addition of raw cacao powder is a great way to lift your mood. Raw cacao is high in phenylethylamine (the love chemical) as well as theobromine, which give you a natural pick-me-up. There's no better way to start your day than with a really filling and nutritious smoothie. You'll be surprised by just how filling they are and they make a great snack during the day if you feel yourself getting peckish or tempted to go off track from your healthy eating plan.
If you don't have fresh berries at home, you can just as easily make this recipe with frozen berries if you've got some in your freezer. They give a nice, fresh edge to your smoothie and you can enjoy it year-round. You can also swap out the almond milk for coconut milk, if you prefer. Or, you can use any of your favourite nut milks.

How to make a Calming Nutribullet Smoothie:
Ingredients
- 1tbsp raw cacao powder
- 2 soft dates, pitted
- ½ banana, chopped
- Large handful blueberries, or blackberries
- Handful greens
- Almond milk or coconut milk, to the line
Method
Place all the solid ingredients in your NutriBullet.
Add either almond or coconut milk to the line.
Blitz for 1 minute or so until you reach smoothie consistency.
