Someone major is missing from the movie's new posters
With a little over a month to go until Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits the silver screen, information on the 7th film is coming in thick and fast. Following the launch of a goosebump-inducing trailer last month (see below), Disney has revealed five official posters that feature some very familiar faces.
But before we get a peek of Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher back in their Star Wars garb, let’s recount what we know about the film so far. Without giving away too much, we can confirm that Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C3PO will all be back.
There are also some fresh faces on the way; the leads include Daisy Ridley as a scavenger called Rey, Oscar Isaac as an X-wing fighter called Poe Dameron, and John Boyega as Finn, a redeemed First Order stormtrooper.
Lupita Nyong’o will star as pirate Maz Kanata, Andy Serkis as a powerful figure of the dark side and Girls’ Adam Driver as a dark and powerful warrior called Kylo Ren. Pleasingly, John Williams has composed the music – and you can hear hints of what he’s created in the first two trailers for the long-awaited film.
The new posters, which are striking headshots of key characters from the movie, don’t contain any spoilers. Though there is one noticeable absence amongst the likes of Han and Leia. Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker doesn’t appear in the posters, which adds to fans’ confusion – we also don’t see his face (though we do see a certain metal hand and hear his voice) in the movie’s trailer.
We reckon we’ll have to wait for the December 17th release to find out where Luke is. But in the meantime, let’s take a look at the posters for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Click next…
