The Queen’s lockdown routine revealed - and it’s not what you’d expect
This is how Her Majesty reportedly likes to start her days
The Queen reportedly has a particular routine she likes to follow and it seems that lockdown hasn’t changed the way she gets things done.
- It’s been claimed that the Queen likes to follow a certain routine in lockdown.
- This supposedly includes listening to a certain radio program and attending chapel.
- In other royal news, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan make surprise virtual appearance in honor of Black History Month.
Many people across the world might be struggling to get up and get dressed as enthusiastically as they once did every morning prior to lockdown. But it seems the 94-year-old monarch is not one to let her routine be thrown off. She and her husband Prince Philip have been spending lockdown at their Berkshire home, Windsor Castle.
According to PEOPLE, an insider has revealed that: “In her twilight years, I'm sure it is quite lovely not to have the pressure" of a full calendar of public events as she normally has. Whilst the insider reportedly went on to state that: “Neither her physical nor her mental health are waning” at this difficult time.
But whilst the 94-year-old monarch may not be able to conduct as many in-person royal engagements as she was once used to, it seems her routine is something she sticks to. PEOPLE reports that the Queen has “kept a regular schedule” and suggests that this “stems from a disciplined and devout life” she has lead.

They report that Her Majesty “goes to chapel privately every week (pandemic restrictions permitting) and rises — a little later than she used to — every day to the sound of the BBC's Today news program on her classic Roberts radio.”
And when it comes to the rest of her day, the publication claims that, just as she has for seven decades, the Queen “reviews the daily documents, with a special eye toward the pandemic updates”, adding that “she’s taken part in several video calls with various charities and organizations.”

According to PEOPLE, the Queen has also taken “added comfort in her beloved animals” throughout this challenging time, including her “last living dorgi” Candy. Last year the Queen’s dorgi - a Corgi and dachshund mix - Vulcan sadly passed away, leaving her with just Candy remaining.

With this year marking the Queen’s 95th birthday, it is reportedly hoped that a Trooping the Color celebration will be able to go ahead in June.
If this turns out to be true, then the momentous occasion will likely see the Queen reunited with her wider family after many months apart during lockdown.
