The Princess Royal, accompanied by her husband Sir Tim Laurence, is in the East African country for four days in support of a number of her 300+ patronages. The important visit marks the 72-year-old's second overseas royal trip in the aftermath of Queen Elizabeth's death last month.
Anne and Tim kicked off their Uganda tour yesterday with a visit to the Medical Research Council, where they learned about the center's health research for infectious & non-communicable diseases. The couple also received a tour of its state-of-the-art facilities and spoke to the unit's key scientists and Ph.D. fellows.
In classic Anne style, the Princess Royal prioritized practicality and comfort for the busy day of meet-and-greets. She wore a mid-blue denim jacket over a sky-blue shirt with darker, wide-brimmed jeans, likely choosing lighter fabrics to stay cool in the 30C degrees heat. As for her accessories, the former equestrian kept things simple with a long strapped shoulder purse (that appeared to be very similar to Princess Anne's cult Longchamps bag) and flat brogues - oh, and some pretty reflective shades. Her sporty eyewear garnered plenty of attention from fans, with one person even hailing the sunglasses as "snazzy."

The royal icon ditched her casual outfit for the more formal event, wearing a wrap navy dress with long sleeves and a v-neckline. Her jewelry, a pearl necklace, sapphire drop earrings, and a stunning sapphire brooch, perfectly complimented the color of her gown, while her low-heeled black brogues made for a stylish finish without the blisters.
