The Princess Royal was the guest of honor at a recent event on board the SS Great Britain. Princess Anne, who is a patron of the SS Great Britain Trust scheme, attended a graduation ceremony and awarded students with their diplomas.
The caption of a post from the royal family explained, "On board @ssgreatbritain, The Princess Royal congratulates the latest graduates of the ‘Future Brunels’ programme – a five-year education scheme that provides support and work experience to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators."
"Her Royal Highness is Patron of the SS Great Britain Trust, which launched the scheme in 2011. So far it has supported over 100 students gain valuable and career-enhancing skills and opportunities."

Many fans loved to see the Princess at work and supporting a great cause, however, some were distracted by the Princess' decision to wear gloves inside.
Although the weather is cold outside, the Princess appeared to be the only person in the images wearing gloves as she met those involved in the scheme and shook hands with graduates.

Some fans believed that although wearing gloves outside during cold weather is socially acceptable, wearing them while shaking hands with students at a royal event seemed like a faux pas.

"Wow....Wearing gloves to prevent contact with all those commoners," said one person on social media.
"She does so much, but Princess Anne always looks like a Bond villain with her gloves," said another.
"Why does Highness always wear gloves. 👏👏" asked yet another fan on social media.
It seems this isn't the first time that Her Royal Highness has worn gloves at an engagement and is often wearing the accessory even when she is inside.
Earlier in the year in on November 10, 2021, Princess Anne was pictured sporting another pair of black gloves as she spoke with Secretary of State for Business Kwasi Kwarteng as they attend a reception for winners of the Queen's Awards For Enterprise at Windsor Castle.
Although many were distracted by her gloves at this recent royal engagement, for the most part, fans were impressed with the royal's dedication to her work and her various patronages.
Princess Anne has been hailed as a credit to the royal family for her numerous royal engagements during the pandemic. The Princess has only recently turned 71, but is constantly attending events and is considered one of the hardest working of the Queen's four children.
