Prince Charles and Camilla’s Christmas card a ‘symbol of challenging times’ as fans praise their ‘cute and timely’ photo
Prince Charles and Camilla’s Christmas card photo captures an iconic moment from 2021 and fans couldn’t be more delighted.
Prince Charles and Camilla’s Christmas card has been released and this year’s photo has been hailed a “symbol of these challenging times” by fans for depicting the “reality” of our lives.
- The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have shared their annual Christmas card photo and it couldn’t be more different to previous years.
- Prince Charles and Camilla’s Christmas card features both senior royals wearing masks, with fans dubbing it “cute and timely”.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla have finally shared their 2021 Christmas card with excited fans, just as Prince William and Kate Middleton also posted the Cambridge family Christmas card on social media. Their sweet snap was taken during a holiday to Jordan earlier this year and showed three of the Queen’s great-grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis looking very grown-up and beaming beside their parents.
In contrast, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s Christmas card was taken in the UK as they attended one of the year’s most prestigious events. Their Christmas card picture is from Day 2 of Royal Ascot in June 2021, when Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla’s rare candid moment showed how they’re just like us.

The Prince of Wales was snapped helping his wife to put on her stunning pale lemon-colored face mask, which perfectly matched her hat and dress. Whilst Prince Charles opted for a smart black top hat and gray suit and waistcoat and selected a black face mask for the occasion.
The royal couple have been regularly wearing face masks at important engagements and events, whilst mask-wearing is now once again compulsory in England in most indoor public places and on public transport. Taking to social media to share a glimpse of their Christmas card this year, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla posted a snap of the card open on what appears to be one of the best real Christmas trees.
The choice of a memorable photo that reflects both the challenging past year and the current situation for so many is one that hasn’t gone unnoticed or unpraised by royal fans. Prince Charles and Camilla’s Christmas card has been dubbed a “symbol” of the times and been seen as “setting examples” by many.
“Such a wonderful picture: their caring love for each other and the symbol of [these] challenging times ! ⭐👑⭐”, one fan commented warmly on social media.

Another agreed, reflecting on how it showcases their relationship as well as the global situation as they commented, “It’s a beautiful picture, and it shows not only the relationship of TRH but also the situation worldwide”.
“Love this!!! ❤️💚 It depicts the reality of all of our lives during the past year!!! Merry Christmas to the entire Royal family! Wishing you all health and happiness in 2022! 🎄” a third person shared.
Whilst someone else declared, “You're settling examples for the rest of us! I appreciate that! Merry Christmas to the two of you!”
Another described it as ‘Cute and timely’ as another said, “Great photo of two beautiful people ❤️ love significance of masks I. Shot showing last year and a bit! ❤️🙌”.
The supportive response from fans will likely be very much appreciated by Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla as they prepare for Christmas at Sandringham. The Queen’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren traditionally gather in Norfolk for the festive season.
In 2020 she and Prince Philip celebrated alone at Windsor Castle during the Covid-19 pandemic. This year the Queen is expected to return to Sandringham where she and the royals will mark their first Christmas since the Duke of Edinburgh’s death.
