In a recent interview with The Cut, Meghan Markle compared her strained relationship with her father to Prince Harry's relationship with Prince Charles.

In an interview with The Cut, Meghan Markle spoke about her relationship with Thomas Markle. The two have been estranged since the Duchess married Prince Harry back in 2018 and her father was not invited to the celebrations. The relationship between father and daughter then worsened after he continued to talk to the press about his daughter and her letter to him begging him to stop was leaked to the press.

Comparing this difficult relationship to her husband's relationship with his father, Meghan spoke about the tabloid press ruining these relationships and even tearing 'two families apart'.

"Harry said to me, ‘I lost my dad in this process.’ It doesn’t have to be the same for them as it was for me, but that’s his decision," said Meghan. The Duchess and Prince Harry clearly believe that Meghan's relationship with Thomas Markle has been 'lost' but are still hopeful for a reconciliation with the Prince of Wales at some point.

It has recently been reported that Prince Charles is ‘irritated’ by Meghan Markle’s refusal to reconcile with father, but the Duchess did not touch on this during her interview.

The comments from Meghan were misunderstood by some outlets that reported that Prince Harry had said, 'I lost my dad in the process,' when in fact Meghan who said that her husband said this comment about her situation with her father.

Clearing up the confusion on Twitter Omid Scobie said, "There seems to be confusion in some headlines about this quote in The Cut interview. I understand that Prince Harry is actually referring to Meghan's loss of her own father, and Meghan is saying she doesn't want Harry to lose his."

The Duchess of Sussex spoke about her wishes that Prince Harry would have a better relationship with his father than she does with hers. However, later in the interview, Meghan revealed her struggles with forgiving her Royal in-laws as she revealed ' it takes a lot of effort to forgive'.

In this revealing interview, Meghan also condemned the Royal Rota rules that William and Kate have to ‘play’ with Cambridge children.
