Kate Middleton has been likened to the late Princess Diana with her new nickname
Kate Middleton’s fans have given her an affectionate new nickname inspired by another beloved royal icon - Princess Diana.
- Kate Middleton has given her a sweet new nickname, which will sound very familiar to Princess Diana fans.
- The Duchess of Cambridge's new name recognizes her effortless rapport with children, which she shares with the late Princess Diana.
- In other royal news, Prince William gets new title from the Queen as Prince Harry and Meghan discussions continue.
The Duchess of Cambridge recently earned the unofficial title as the ‘Children’s Princess’, after building a reputation for her natural rapport with young people over the years. The sweet name is a nod to the late Lady Diana, who became known as the ‘People’s Princess’ in light of her ongoing commitment to public service.
Many royal fans now believe that Diana would be proud of her daughter-in-law, who regularly connects with children in schools and hospitals across Britain.
“The children’s princess suits her!” one Twitter user wrote. “Not only because her work within the Royal Foundation is with children but because her comfortableness (sic) with children’s so effortless.”
Kate is a patron of a number of charities for young people, including children’s hospices, hospitals, and mental health services. She is often praised for her effortless interaction with kids and her ability to make them feel special.
On a 2018 visit to a primary school, the duchess was commended for her respect of the pupils’ personal space during a meet-and-greet. Kate only hugged the schoolchildren if they initiated the gesture, allowing the more reserved students to opt for a simple handshake. She also dressed fittingly for the casual classroom environment, swapping her typical formal attire for a tracksuit and sneakers.

This isn’t the first time comparisons have been made between the duchess and Prince William’s late mother. Kate appears to copy Princess Diana’s behavior in public, according to a speech expert.
“Kate will adopt a listening position, her head slightly tilted to one side, much like William’s mother Princess Diana used to do,” voiceover artist Jon Briggs told the Express. "It's a position that says 'I'm interested and listening to you - and ensuring that you know my status doesn't get in the way of this conversation.'
Kate’s bond with children has also been likened to that of the Princess of Wales. The duchess shares her playful nature with the late Diana - a trait that comes in handy when dealing with the nation’s little ones. Whether engaging with their own offspring or the public’s youth, both mothers are celebrated for their natural inclination to put children at ease.
