It’s not Prince Harry’s ‘place to say’ William is ‘trapped in the institution’, claims royal expert
Prince William is reportedly 'devastated'
Prince Harry has claimed his brother Prince William and their father Prince Charles are “trapped” in the royal family, as he opened up to talkshow host Oprah Winfrey.
- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “tell-all’ interview with Oprah Winfrey aired on Sunday in the US and Monday in the UK and included some shocking revelations.
- A royal expert has suggested that Prince William has been left “devastated” and that it was not Harry’s “place to say” that his brother and father are “trapped”.
- In other royal news, Meghan Markle filed a complaint to ITV for Piers Morgan’s Good Morning Britain statements.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey has left many viewers across the world shocked after the couple opened up about their lives in the royal spotlight. Having stepped back as senior members of the Royal Family last year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have since gone on to confirm they are not coming back as working royals. The couple are now expecting their second child and even revealed their baby’s gender to Oprah during their remarkable interview.
Whilst this happy family news no doubt delighted royal fans, Prince Harry also discussed his relationships with his brother and father. He claimed that Prince Charles and Prince William were “trapped” in the royal family. Whilst Duchess Meghan set the record straight about rumors she made Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge cry in the past.
According to ET, royal expert Katie Nicholl told them that: “William is devastated by this interview. Don't forget that the Duchess of Cambridge is being dragged into this whole saga and William will hate that and of course, the relationship between father and son is of course at an all-time low".

"I think that the idea that Kate’s being dragged into this will be upsetting for Kate who behind the scenes has tried really hard to be a peacemaker between William and Harry. She has been deeply saddened by the brothers' falling out. Don’t forget she was incredibly close to Harry herself."
Katie went on to discuss Prince Harry’s claims about Prince William, stating: "Harry was born in a very different role than William -- he was born the spare, William the heir.

“William has always known what his duty and birthright has been. I’m sure there's times when he's resented the establishment he's born into and there's been times he's kicked back at it.
“There are times certainly when William has struggled with his birthright, but to suggest that he's trapped in the institution, I don’t think it’s true and I don’t think it’s probably Harry’s place to say in any case”, she said.
During the interview with Oprah, Prince Harry did, however, also speak of his love for his brother and the bond they share.
"The relationship is space at the moment," he said, "and time heals all things, hopefully.
"I love William to bits, he's my brother, we've been through hell together, we have a shared experience, but we were on different paths," Prince Harry declared.
