Which royals have tested positive for covid-19?
According to another post on The Danish Monarchy site on 7 December 2020, Prince Christian tested positive for the virus. The report claims that the prince was in isolation at Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg and that 'Apart from the Crown Prince's family, Prince Christian has not been in contact with other members of the royal family in recent times'.
This supposedly came after ‘a local outbreak of Covid-19 at Tranegårdskolen in Hellerup’. Prince Christian is not the only European royal understood to have tested positive for covid-19.
Britain's Prince Charles and Prince William both tested positive in 2020. Prince Charles later opened up about his covid-19 battle and reportedly revealed he "got away with it quite lightly".
Princess Michael of Kent, who is married to the Queen's cousin Prince Michael of Kent, is also believed to have tested positive for the virus.
Has Queen Elizabeth II received the vaccine?
Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip at 94 and 99 years old respectively are considered in a ‘high risk’ category for covid-19. However, it has not been officially confirmed whether the monarch or the Duke of Edinburgh (opens in new tab) have received the vaccine.
The royal couple are understood to have remained at Windsor Castle (opens in new tab) where they celebrated Christmas.
With new restrictions coming into effect this week, the Queen will likely turn once more to video calls for some royal engagements.
