He's already conquered the world of dancing, but now he's set to try his hand at presenting with a new gig on This Morning.
Anton du Beke, one of Strictly Come Dancing’s most popular professional dancers, is set to join the This Morning team for a one off presenting role on Friday.
The dad-of-two will be joining This Morning regular Rochelle Humes, to cover Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
Speaking to The Mirror, Anton admitted he’s thrilled about his new role.
He confessed, “I can’t wait. I’ve got big boots to fill, but hopefully viewers will welcome me with open arms. No doubt they’ll be a sprinkling of dancing with Rochelle at some points.”
It’s not the dancer’s first gig with the programme though. He’s recently been delighting viewers with his ‘Anton du Beke, Baking Fails’ segment, which sees him try his hand at whipping up all sorts of delicious baked goods.
Of course, Anton’s new role on This Morning comes in the midst of speculation that he could be named one of Strictly’s new judges, replacing Darcey Bussell.
Anton also confessed to the Mirror that he would love the chance to take on the job, although he’s not been asked yet.
He explained, “I don’t know if it will be me but if they asked me I’d love to. People say they are real fans of mine but we will have to wait and see if they ask me first.
“I did a screen test when Len [Goodman] left and they know I want to do it this year.”
Anton went on, saying that despite the prospect of a new role, he is still gutted about Darcey’s departure.
“I am massively disappointed Darcey is leaving.” he said, “Will the show be lacking without Darcey? Well it depends who they get… she won’t like me saying but she is such a British institution.”
