Rylan Clark-Neal has warns that Strictly Come Dancing could still be cancelled.

After a difficult year, we’re all eagerly awaiting the next series of Strictly Come Dancing that is set to hit screens in less than two weeks.

And while we cannot even fathom the thought of not being able to top off our 2020 with our regular dose of the BBC ballroom dancing show, it may be something that we might have to consider.

Over the last few months, show producers have made it clear that they intend to go ahead with this year’s season of Strictly Come Dancing, despite film and TV productions being cancelled across the globe due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

But now Rylan Clark-Neal, who hosts spin-off show It Takes Two, has revealed that we may still have to prepared to go through autumn without a hit of Strictly (weep!).

Addressing the news that new celebrity contestant HRVY has tested positive for COVID-19, Rylan told MailOnline, “If Strictly can’t go ahead for whatever reason, of course, it won’t.

“The main thing that Strictly and the BBC have said since day one is, if we can’t do it properly and safely, it’s not going to be done.”

“As far as I know at the moment, it’s all still going ahead and we are really looking forward to it,” he went on.

“For those watching at home, it’s still going to feel like the Strictly everyone knows and loves.

“But of course, if the current restrictions change, there’s no way the BBC would go against the law, but I think that’s the same for every live TV show at the moment.”

But it seems that those set to take part in Strictly are still enthusiastic to go on with this year’s show, with professional dancer Dianne Buswell telling Metro.co.uk, “I feel like we’ve got so much in place and we’re all just really wanting to do the show so we’re all really following guidelines and keeping ourselves and our partners and the people we’re working around safe and they’re doing just the same.

“It’s all done so safely that I feel at ease doing the show. I’m just excited we do get to do it and making peoples Saturday nights a lot happier.”

Let’s hope they manage to go ahead with the series!
