Loose Women’s Nadia Sawalha has opened up on experiencing an ‘awful’ miscarriage in the past.

Nadia Sawalha spoke out on her miscarriage experience during yesterday’s episode of ITV daytime show Loose Women, as the panel were discussing John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s devastating announcement that they had lost their baby.

Explaining that she felt she could relate to John and Chrissy, who made their heartbreaking announcement earlier this week, Nadia told co-stars Christine Lampard and Jane Moore, "I chose to come back from the hospital and have [the miscarriage] at home. It wasn't pleasant, it was long and awful, Mark was with me.

"Mark was in real bits,” continued Nadia Sawalha, “I went to this strange place where I phoned everyone up, my family live next door. I rang everyone up and said 'get me some chickens and potatoes, I'm going to do a roast dinner.'"

Nadia also opened up about being "in shock", adding of her husband, Mark Adderley, "This poor man [Mark] was just reeling. But that was my way, in a microcosm, it's a similar kind of thing, I wasn't in my right mind when I did that. I was a bit in shock."

The TV host, who shares daughters 17-year-old Maddie and 13-year-old Kiki with husband Mark, added "I often think about that, it must have really hard for Mark because I just did what I needed. We were in the same position even though he hadn't physically done it."

It comes after John Legend and Chrissy Teigen announced that their newborn baby Jack had passed away after being delivered early.

Alongside a stream of candid hospital photos, Chrissy wrote in an Instagram post, ‘We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.

After sharing a sweet message to the pair’s late son Jack, Chrissy added, ‘Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.

‘We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.
