Celebrity Traitors season 2 launch date confirmed

With the end of summer approaching, thoughts turn to cosy nights in watching the TV - enter The Celebrity Traitors.

The show has become a staple of the colder months - thanks in part to Claudia Winkleman’s wardrobe of chunky knits, stylish accessories and timeless boots - and the second series promises more drama than ever before.

The BBC have now confirmed when the show will return as well as offering an extended trailer of the new series, which will see a host of stars including Jerry Hall, Richard E Grant and Miranda Hart competing to win a cash prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.

When does The Celebrity Traitors series 2 start?

The BBC have confirmed that the second series of The Celebrity Traitors will start airing from Thursday, 1 October at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

A perfect kick-off for spooky season, the series will then air two nights a week on Thursday and Friday evenings at 8pm.

For fans who can't get enough, spin-off show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked airs on BBC One straight after the main series, and can be viewed on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer.

And there’s more, viewers will find out how Claudia chooses her Traitors in Traitor or Faithful? Claudia Decides, available to watch on BBC iPlayer from 9:15pm on October 1.

In this new special, new information will be revealed, as Claudia gets to know the players on a more personal level.

Just as the broadcaster dropped the release date for the new series, one of the BBC bosses has previously teased what to expect from the show.

Entertainment director Ed Havard said at the Edinburgh TV Festival, "The thing about this season is, things happen that you didn't think could happen... I came from working on the US version, and it just shows how many surprises this show can deliver.

"The paranoia is off the scale. I really wanted to step in and go, 'no one is actually being murdered. I don't want to give too much away, but there are tears in this series.

"I don't think that I thought there would be this many surprises in this season, but there are."
