Kim Kardashian defends North West's painting after it goes viral

Kim Kardashian has recently hit back at fans after criticism was aimed at her daughter North’s artistic abilities. Fans questioned the validity of Kim’s claims that seven-year-old North had painted the images that Kim posted on her social media account.

Kim posted an image of a landscape painting that North allegedly painted with the caption, “My little artist North.” However, fans thought that this piece was far too advanced for a young girl to have created and immediately criticized Kim for lying about North’s abilities. 

One fan wrote on Twitter, “She bought this and put the kid’s name on it.” Another said, “Anyone who believes this was painted by a seven-year-old is beyond help.” This lead to a lot of online discussions that questioned if Kim was lying about the painting.

Kim took to Instagram to defend her daughter and reiterate that North did in fact create the image. Kim wrote on Instagram, “Don’t play with me when it comes to my children!!! My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured. North worked incredibly hard on her painting which took several weeks to complete.”

Kim continued to criticize the fans that were putting her daughter down. Kim wrote, “As a proud mom, I wanted to share her work with everyone. I’m seeing op-ed pieces in the media and social media from grown adults breaking down whether my child actually painted this! How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome!?!?! Please stop embarrassing yourselves with the negativity and allow every child to be GREAT!!! NORTH WEST PAINTED THAT PERIOD!”

On TikTok, a video went viral where a user defended Kim's claims. A TikToker posted a photo of herself with an identical painting that she created when she was also seven-years-old. It seems that a Calabasas art teacher uses this painting as the starting point for all of her students and many seven-year-olds have been able to complete this landscape painting in that class.

Fans are now flocking to social media to praise North for her artistic ability at such a young age. One fan wrote, “North West is 7 years old and has more talent in her one painting than I have had in my whole life.” Another commented, “shoutout to North West for singlehandedly inspiring me to get back into painting! her impact is unmatched!”
