Gillian Anderson's hilarious birthday post with dog Stella leaves Sharon Stone speechless
Gillian Anderson stunned Sharon Stone with her quirky birthday message to David Duchovny
Gillian Anderson has sent a very unconventional birthday message to David Duchovny—much to the amusement of fellow Hollywood star Sharon Stone.
The Emmy-award-winning actor took to Instagram on Sunday (8 August) to wish (or should we say bark?) a very happy birthday to her X-Files costar on behalf of her beloved dog, Stella. The hilarious post even tagged David's canine pet, Brick Duchovny, to make sure he'd receive the adorable memo.
"Hey @brick_duchovny it’s Stella. I heard it was your human’s birthday," Gillian's Labradoodle 'wrote'. "Hey @davidduchovny happy birthday 🎂 love Stella."

It didn't take long for Brick, who has reached celebrity status of his own on his multiple social media accounts, to respond to the kind message—and share his gratitude for his surprise gift.
"Thanks for the ball Stella! Ill [sic] let @davidduchovny know and I hope your human @GillianA is doing great," the rescue dog replied on his Twitter. "Play date soon?"

Fans of Gillian and David were delighted to see this back-and-forth banter, with many flooding the comment section with approving emojis and their own birthday messages.
"You communicating everything through stella [sic] gives me life," one Instagram user wrote.

"😍 I love that you’re thinking about Brick’s human," another person wrote.
The photo even grabbed the attention of the one-and-only Sharon Stone, who commented, "Omg 👏👏👏😍😍😍," below the sweet post. The Oscar-winning actor first met Gillian when the pair starred in the 1998 film The Mighty and continues to follow her to this day.
Not everyone could focus on the doggie content, however. X-Files fans have long been hoping that Gillian and David, who played FBI special agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder on the popular '90s series, would date in real life after wowing viewers with their palpable on-screen chemistry.
"THANK YOU FOR THIS. You guys have been keeping us on edge since 93. And boy I swear we still believe," one person wrote.
"Mom & dad ❤️," another fan commented.
This isn't the first time the Sex Education star has teased her relationship with her former costar with the public. Last April, Gillian Anderson shared an adorable photo with David Duchovny, prompting fans to go wild for a Mulder and Scully reunion. The candid snap, which also featured an appearance from Stella, had many people wondering whether or not the pair were a romantic item. The timing also stirred up speculation, with Gillian Anderson splitting from The Crown's creator after 4 years together the previous December.
Neither Gillian nor David have confirmed or denied the rumors, so we're willing to bet it's just puppy love for the time being.
