Drew Barrymore has celebrated Reese Witherspoon’s astonishing career with a heartfelt post as she revealed her friend “continues to floor” her after over three decades of friendship.

Drew Barrymore and Reese Witherspoon have become two of the most popular and instantly recognizable names in Hollywood. Their impressive careers span everything from Charlie’s Angels to Water for Elephants and Reese has recently risen to become Hollywood’s richest female actor. Though some might have expected Drew and Reese to have crossed paths on the red carpet, the pair’s close bond was actually formed in their teenage years. Since then, their friendship has gone from strength to strength and Drew has now revealed she still “marvels” at Reese’s talents after all their decades of friendship.

Taking to Instagram, Drew re-shared a sweet post from Reese which showed the Big Little Lies star drinking out of a stunning Drew Barrymore Show mug. And it was here that Drew took the opportunity to express her delight and appreciation for all her friend has achieved.

‘@RG @reesewitherspoon drinking out of her @thedrewbarrymoreshow MUG!!!!!!!!!!! This makes me so happy! Ps could anyone be more impressed by a human?! Reese continues to floor me with her BRAND OF STORIES THAT HAS HER EXTRAORDINARY STAMP ON THEM!!! And you know what that stamp is? Humanity!’ she declared.

‘She is out there telling the stories of our insane complexities and layers. I await everything she is putting out into the world. And I savor it. And I marvel at how much pain, hope and honesty her shows have. I can’t wait for more.’

Drew went on to express her adoration for some of Reese’s most iconic characters, including everyone’s favorite pink-loving lawyer, Elle Woods, as she reflected on their many decades of friendship.

‘Everything and every show she has put out so far are my favorite! And her whole legacy is so fun. Give me Elle Woods! Give me Tracy Flick!' the actor and talk show host continued.

‘Reese, we have known each other since we were around 14 or 15? And congratulations on being the human you are! So much administration!’

Drew’s adorable post is a wonderful reflection of her and Reese’s close bond and of her belief in supporting and championing other women. This inspirational sentiment is something shared by Reese herself, who had posted her original Instagram snap in tribute to Drew’s own talents.

‘Workdays are better with a good Mantra! 💫💖 Thank you to the world’s best human @drewbarrymore for the inspiration’, she announced, alongside the picture of her proudly holding her Drew Barrymore Show mug.

These heartfelt posts come as the two stars have recently opened up about the moment they first met. As reported by The Statesman, Reese appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she revealed she was once “obsessed” with her.

“I was 14 years old; I was completely obsessed with you. You had no idea that I was like your super fan,” Reese explained.

“I had read your book, I had pictures of you on my wall. You were like my childhood acting idol, and you came up to me in a restaurant and you said, ‘I saw you in a movie and you were so wonderful’.”

“You were one of the first people who ever supported me and showed me, it doesn’t have to be competitive, that creativity is infinite and if we can collaborate as women together, we can accomplish so much more,” she powerfully declared.
