This week, television's biggest stars hit the red carpet for the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, arguably one of the most important nights in Hollywood's award calendar. Game of Thrones was the big winner of the night triumphing in three categories in Sunday's ceremony, even scooping the top prize of best drama series and overtaking Frasier's record of the most awards with 38. There was more success for British talent though, when Dame Maggie Smith won outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for her role in Downton Abbey, although she wasn't there to collect the prize herself. Elsewhere BBC One's Sherlock was named best made for TV movie for its special episode screened at Christmas. and the Susanne Bier won best directing in a limited series for The Night Manager. Another big winner of the night was The People vs OJ Simpson. The stars were out in force, hitting the red carpet in some stunning dresses.
