Oscar-winning actor Catherine Zeta-Jones has shared a sweet tribute to her daughter Carys for her 18th birthday and it included a particularly hilarious message.
Catherine, who is perhaps best known for her stand-out role in Chicago, has taken to Instagram to celebrate her lookalike daughter Carys’ 18th birthday. Many of us would be delighted at receiving the best jewelry making kit or latest mascara for our birthday, though Catherine gave Carys the best present ever in the form of a sentimental post featuring three snaps.
‘Happy 18th Birthday Carys Zeta! You are everything, and everything is you’, the proud mom declared in her heartfelt caption. ‘Thank you for the joy you bring me. At 5 am this morning, you texted me to thank me, for giving birth to you. That’s the kind of woman you are. Kind. Your wisdom out numbers your years.
‘You beauty is deep and your heart is big enough to love and envelop the world, your sense of humor......very important.... is insurmountable. I could go on. Your Japanese needs some work, but that’s doable. I love you angel. Mama.’

Alongside two beautiful photos, one of Catherine and Carys when she was little, and one of Carys now, looking stunning in a swimsuit, Catherine also gave fans a sneak peek at the text message she mentioned receiving from Carys - and the Oscar-winner’s reply is as hilarious as it is heartwarming.
Clearly visible in the third photo included in Catherine’s birthday post, Carys wrote: “Thank you for giving birth to me!”
"Oh, giving birth to you was my proudest moment! Wait……Oscar?…….No…….Definity YOU", her mom responded.

This wonderful insight into Catherine and Carys’ close relationship comes after it was recently revealed that Carys and her brother Dylan might be tempted to follow in the footsteps of Catherine and her husband of 20 years Michael Douglas.
"The journey I've had as an actor has been extraordinary," Catherine said during an interview on TODAY. "So I can only encourage them to do what they love."
"They're both extremely bright and they're both studying history and politics," she continued, before jokingly adding, “They get all their brains from me."

Catherine also admitted that when it comes to their children pursuing acting, she and Michael "would be the first parents to say, 'You know, maybe you should think of another career,'", knowing the pressures of fame all too well.
However, the couple have “seen how passionate they are about the craft”.
“They know what celebritydom is”, Catherine revealed. “They know the good, the bad, warts and all of that."
