  • Let’s be honest, we all secretly (or not so secretly in our case) love Carpool Karaoke. The weekly segment on James Corden’s Late Late Show see’s stars of stage and screen, join a driving James for a chat and a sing-along, with many of the ensuing videos becoming viral hits. The segments have made James an over-night success in America and given us a chance to see a whole different side to some of the biggest names in showbiz.

Not one to rest on his laurels James recently revealed to GQ magazine that there are still two guests that he would like to secure for the show. The big-hitters he feels he is missing are Beyonce and Kanye West. ‘Beyonce is the dream’ he said of the pop star, meanwhile with Kanye, James has come very close, with him being booked and cancelling twice. James admits he is still keen to take part though and insists he will do it eventually.

They’re the type of videos you can watch over and over again, and whilst we are waiting for those two to join the rosta of names, we compiled a list of the best for you to enjoy.

    Victoria Beckham

In the Carpool Karaoke we never knew we needed, former Spice Girls star Victoria Beckham joined James Corden for a rendition of Spice Up Your Life as part of his latest spoof. Unlike his usual Carpool’s this centered on a remake of the classic 80s film Mannequin, with a Spice Girl song thrown in for good measure. Although she’s now switched her career focus over to fashion it’s nice to see she has not forgotten where she came from with her acting having seemingly improved from her ‘SpiceWorld The Movie days’ See for yourself in the 3-minute video below.

    Mariah Carey At Christmas

Following a year of amazing videos with some of the biggest names in the music industry, we thought James would be enjoying a well deserved break. However, it turned out he had one final show stopper up his sleeve, and it’s a good one. Regularly voted the most popular Christmas song of all time, James Corden teamed up with Mariah Carey and some of his previous esteemed guests from throughout the year to sing ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’. This is an all star cast if ever we saw one.

    Michelle Obama

We never thought we would see the First Lady rapping and dancing to Beyonce’s Single Ladies and joining in on a rap with Missy Elliot. Michelle shows that she doesnt take life too seriously as she promotes her Let Girls Learn initiative and gives James a private tour of The White House grounds and an insight into her life.

    Jennifer Lopez

Notorious for her diva like behaviour. Jennifer Lopez proved to be a great sport as James questioned her about rumours that her bottom was once insured for $27 million. As well as singing her most famous songs, James goes through Jennifer’s phone book before deciding to send a very funny text message to Leonardo Dicaprio, one that he actually replies to.

    Stevie Wonder

James Corden’s hilarious sing-along with Stevie Wonder has racked up a massive 24 million views on YouTube. James looked visibly star-struck as he sang along to some of his greatest hits. At one point Stevie calls James’ wife speaking in an english accent before singing I Just Called To Say I Love You down the phone.

    Mariah Carey

James recently revealed that Mariah Carey, whilst doing the segment, refused to sing along to any of her songs, turning up at filming and announcing that she had been up all night and didn’t want to take part. However, whilst filming she had a change of mind and sang along to a few of her classics. The fact that the segment is quite short at 5 minutes long suggests that she demonstrated her usual diva like behaviour however she does find time to try her hand at a few different accents.

    Rod Stewart and A$AP Rocky

James delighted rock fans around the world when Rod Stewart become his guest of honour, singing some of his classic songs such as Maggie May and First Cut Is The Deepest. Seizing the opportunity, Corden asked Rod about some of his most famous rock and roll antics, although the rocker couldn’t quite pin-point his best one. He did however touch on the reason he trashed hotels and threw TV’s out of windows and the sneaky trick he had for getting away with it. Hint. It involved blaming another famous band.

Gwen Stefani, George Clooney and Julia Roberts

Not one but three great stars made the cut for this Carpool Karaoke classic when Gwen Stefani, George Clooney and Julia Roberts joined forces. Within seconds of picking up Gwen they are singing no-doubt classics including Don’t Speak. After picking up their Hollywood heavyweight friends they move on to her solo-catalogue of hits. You have to see George Clooney sing B.A.N.A.N.A.S. in Hollaback Girl

James travelled back to London for his Carpool with Adele and it looks like they had the best of times. As usual the multi-million, award winning singer is her hilarious self singing along to all of her biggest hits whilst talking about motherhood, tea and getting drunk and buying people’s meals. The 15 minute clip broke records when it was viewed 45 million times as her stunning vocals brought many to tears.

Musical fans. This ones for you. James got together some of the biggest stars from broadway including Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda, Audra McDonald and Jane Krawowski. They belt out songs including Jersey Boys ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’ and Rent’s ‘Seasons of Love’ but our favourite was their rendition of Les Mis’ ‘One More Day’. Goosebumps.

    Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson put in a belter of a performance in one of the first ever Carpool Karaokes that remains one of our all time favourites. Not only does she show off some impressive rapping skills but she also manages to sing James’ food order to the drive through worker. After the fun parts were out of the way Jennifer treated viewers to a rendition of her biggest hit ‘Spotlight’ and the big ‘Dreamgirls’ smash hit ‘And I Am Telling You’

    Elton John

The Elton John Karaoke might be one of the wackiest to date but also one of the best. James takes everyone on a trip down memory lane singing many of his older hits such as ‘Your Song’ and ‘I’m Still Standing’. Elton is refreshingly honest on his car journey telling James of the time he realised he had made it and talked him through some of his craziest outfits which they then wear for the rest of the journey.
