Meaco Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal fan
Meaco Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal fan: £199.99 at Meaco UK

Available at Meaco, this comes with a rechargeable and replaceable battery as well as a useful storage bag.

I've tested plenty of fans in my time, which makes me tough to please when it comes to cooling. I'm even tougher when it comes to handing out five star reviews, but I just had to give the MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10" Pedestal Air Circulator a flawless score. It wouldn't have been fair to be anything else.

The MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10" Pedestal Air Circulator is new to the brand’s line-up of already impressively cooling fans. This one is particularly exciting because it’s broken records: quieter than ever before, cooler, and with special oscillations, it’s the fan that everyone will want to steal from you when the weather heats up, or for a nice breeze during the day.

I’ve been testing the fan in my home, with my family of hot sleepers. My mum, in particular, suffers from night sweats, and is the one who has staked a particularly strong claim to the MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10" Pedestal Air Circulator. Here’s what the family thinks of it.

Who would the MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal Air Circulator suit?

The Meaco Sefte 10” is ideal for anyone who wants flexibility without compromising on performance. Its has the option to be used cordless, which is brilliant for portability and placing this in the perfect place. Not being tethered to plug sockets or rearranging furniture to stay cool is a big win that not many fans of this power can boast. I found myself moving it effortlessly from my desk to the living room and then up to the bedroom, and it never felt like a hassle.

It’s also particularly well-suited to light sleepers or anyone sensitive to noise. Even at higher speeds, the sound profile stays soft and unobtrusive, making it a natural choice for bedrooms, especially during hot, restless nights. It builds on that with silencing buttons, a sensitive remote control, and no lights, so you can control the fan from bed, without needing to wave your hands around and lift of a sleep mask.

What’s even more impressive, though, is that the quietness doesn’t come at the expense of power. I couldn't hear it running until it was working on the higher powers, and even then, it still could be whispered over.

Unboxing the MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal Air Circulator

Meaco is reasonable with how they package the MeacoFan Sefte 10 Pedestal Air Circulator. The box is as compact as it could be: it fits the fan in a box which is easy to lift and carry and which protects it in transit.

From a sustainability perspective, there have been questions raised over the small amount of soft plastics used in packaging, but Meaco explains that these are necessary and that the hit all sustainability credentials where possible. I managed to recycle the soft plastics at my local big Sainsbury’s, so if sustainability is high on your list, have a look for some soft plastic recycling points.

Inside the box, the MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal Air Circulator comes with its battery powered remote, two adjustable poles to determine the height of your fan, and a plug, which you can choose to use or not (the fan is battery powered and rechargeable).

Normally, really don’t like instruction manuals (either the pictures make no sense or the words are too confusing) but Meaco does a beautiful job of simple, clear instructions. Assembling and using the fan is actually really intuitive anyway, but it's still good to have a useful instruction manual

What is the MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal Air Circulator like to use?

You can control the fan in three ways: via the app, directly on the unit, or with the remote, each is equally easy and intuitive, so you can flick between settings or choose to use whichever one if the most convenient.

The remote magnetises neatly into the centre of the fan, which sounds like a small detail, but it's actually a really neat and handy feature to have. It's an easy place to store and find the remote when you want to change settings on the fan. The buttons are clearly labelled and satisfyingly tactile, letting you adjust fan speed, oscillation angle, and temperature response with precision.

What impressed me most about the remote is the sensitivity, a feature which Meaco is really proud of too. You don’t need to sit up or point it directly at the fan. When I was lying down, holding the remote low beside me, the fan responded instantly. You can also switch off both the audible “beep” noise and any indicator lights, which suits the bedroom and running at night particularly well, but we'll talk more about that later.

The same intuitive design carries through to the touchscreen on the fan itself. It’s responsive and reliable, ideal for quick adjustments when the remote isn’t within reach. It never feels like a compromise, which is a big win in my books.

Full height: whole room cooling

At its tallest setting (using both extension poles), the MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal Air Circulator is a surprisingly powerful air circulator. I had heard about the impressive Meaco engineering behind this fan before I tested it, but this is definitely a "see it to believe it" fan, because it delivers on even the most elaborate promises. The airflow feels broad and well-distributed, rather than harsh or concentrated, so it moves air across the entire room rather than blasting in one direction. However, when I wanted the airflow to be more concentrated, I could switch the rotation to get cooling air in the exact place I wanted it.

On its lowest setting, it produces a soft, barely-there breeze - I actually only knew it was running because I could feel the cool air. It's incredibly quiet. At higher speeds, it has the power to push cool air across an open-plan space with ease and still sits under 25dB on my noise recording device. This means, even at night, it fades completely into the background

That's one of the reasons that this took up a place in my mum, Sally's, bedroom. She suffers from night sweats, so is always keen to see what any cooling product can do to help her. She says that the Meaco is “the first fan I’ve used where I could actually sleep through the night without being woken up by it. You can feel it working, but you can’t hear it.”

Mid height: targeted, soothing airflow

At its mid height, this became my go-to for daytime use, especially when sitting and reading or working. The airflow sits perfectly at torso level, creating a cocoon of cool air without disturbing papers or feeling intrusive.

When I was feeling run down (and actually a bit ill), I was getting hot and uncomfortable, so I called on the fan for some relief. I definitely found it - at full blast, I actually combatted my hot, sweaty state and became too cold. The airflow is smooth and consistent, but not too abrasive. Sitting in the sun with a book, both my mum and I found ourselves reaching for this height again and again.

“It just takes the edge off the heat without making you feel cold,” Sally says and I’d agree. It’s a beautifully balanced setting and, I have been known to have it sat at the front of the room when I'm doing an intense yoga or pilates class - it's perfect for stopping the sweats.

Compact height: for the bed and desk

At its shortest height, the MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal Air Circulator proves just how versatile the fan is. This is where it works brilliantly on a bedside table or desk, delivering precise, close-range cooling.

I used this setting while working, positioned just to the side of my laptop. It kept air moving gently across my face and shoulders without drying or distracting, which exactly what you want when you need to focus.

Overnight, it’s even more impressive. With the lights and sounds turned off, it fades completely into your environment. Whilst Sally loved having the fan at full height overnight, when the night sweats were bad, she needed serious cooling power. Sticking this on max cooling power was perfect. "The blast of cold air, so close to be, must still not deafening, was a godsend," she says, "it helped me feel so much better and I actually felt calmer and less of a sense of dread going to sleep with it by my bed." It's proof that this covers whole-room circulation as well as quiet, personal breezes.

Should you buy the MeacoFan Sefte 10 Pedestal Air Circulator?

Truly, it's hard to fault a fan this. The price-performance value score is at the top (I would have rated it higher if I could), the build quality is really robust, and I found the cooling power, paired with the quiet score almost breathtakingly impressive. If you struggle with hot flushes and you want a versatile fan, look no further than the MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal Air Circulator.
