KitchenAid's stand mixer is so elegant, you'll want it on display – it will light up the room
KitchenAid just gave us all a masterful lesson in style and practicality
The KitchenAid stand mixer is already iconic, but the new Design Series Luminaire takes that silhouette and turns it into a style centrepiece with an elegantly lit glass bowl, showcased on a brand-new French Blue body.
Every year, KitchenAid adds to their collection of stand mixers with a stand-out, limited-edition model. We've seen hammered copper bowls and ones made out of walnut wood, but fluted glass is a first.
They've also showcased the brand new features of the Artisan Plus stand mixer beautifully. So, whether you're getting Bake Off ready or looking for new ways to fall in love with your kitchen, this has all the ingredients for a luxury look.
The first thing you'll notice about KitchenAid's Design Series Mixer is the namesake feature, the lights in the bowl. This is a new element that KitchenAid launched on the Artisan Plus and they've used the fluted glass bowl to give your stand mixer an almost chandelier effect in the kitchen.
Whilst this KitchenAid isn't the first stand mixer to have a glass bowl, it's the most beautiful version of it that I've seen. They've also hardened the glass for better durability, fluted the edges so that it casts elegant patterns of light across your room, and kept a smooth finish so you get a sculptural look, but still the functional visibility in the bowl.
The new colourway is also an exciting move for the brand. Their Colour of the Year, a cheerful Spearmint blue set the tone for bright colours in the kitchen, but the new Blue Peppercorn works in the opposite way. The calming blue with a colour-matched trim band and a tactile crinkle finish as well as polished metallic accents.
