Waitrose are answering your heatwave dilemmas with a genius way to keep cool and enjoy a drink at the same time.
The supermarket has turned its hand to alcoholic sweet treats, with the launch of their first ever, frozen rosé boozy popsicle.
The Mirabeau Frosé Popsicle is made from a blend of Classic Mirabeau rosé wine and strawberry essence – but you may want to go steady, as each ice pop contains a whopping eight per cent of alcohol.
The ice pops come with a slightly more expensive £2.99 price tag – but we figure it’s a small price to pay for such a delicious-sounding treat.
Waitrose wine buyer Victoria Mason said in a statement, “This is the first time we’ve launched an alcoholic popsicle. Frosé was been a huge trend last summer, with people making their own at home and sharing recipes and pictures all over Instagram.
“Now, we’re offering customers the chance to cool down with a ready-made frozen version of one of our best-selling rosé wines.”
Stephen Cronk, from Mirabeau, added, “Mirabeau Frosé is based on a secret recipe, combining our bestselling Classic Provence Rosé with English strawberry essence.
“We are sure this delicious frozen cocktail will give an indulgent moment to many during this amazing summer”.
But if you’re dying to get your hands on an alcoholic ice pop, there are actually only four Waitrose locations you can pick one up from.
So will the treat be stocked in your local shop?
Available today (Friday 13th July), the lucky shops to stock the Mirabeau Frosé Popsicle are Southampton, John Lewis Watford, John Lewis Foodhall Bluewater and John Lewis Foodhall Oxford Street.
So hurry there if you want one!
The new rosé ice pop comes as Waitrose reports a 20% increase in the sale of rosé wine this summer.
They also claim that visits to its frosé recipe page on Waitrose.com have increased by 250 per cent compared to this time last year.
We’ll certainly be treating ourselves to one of these tasty treats during the heatwave…
