The new Whistles partywear collection brings a touch of The Row's signature understated elegance to the high street
The Row fans, take note
Whistles has long been one of my favourite British clothing brands, but if you haven't shopped there for a while, you're in for a real treat.
After a recent rebrand to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the new collection is an absolute masterclass in occasion dressing, and one of the best I've seen so far on the high street. Alongside office party-ready sequins and cosy Fair Isle knits, some of the shoes and bags wouldn't look out of place in the wardrobe of someone who loves The Row's minimalist aesthetic.
According to the brand, "fluid silhouettes, tactile textures and unexpected proportions meet flashes of metallics, sheer layers and rich leather. Elevated pieces are offset by the everyday, creating a wardrobe that feels considered without feeling too polished. A less prescribed approach to party dressing: elevated but effortless, polished without feeling perfect."
These are the investment-worthy wardrobe additions I'm adding to my wishlist first. And you don't even need a special occasion to justify buying them...

Occasionwear
You simply can't have enough nice tops to go with jeans at this time of year. In chocolate brown, this nails the biggest autumn/winter fashion colour trend of 2026, and the cap sleeves offer a bit of upper-arm coverage, which I'm always looking for.
I can't resist chic fringe detailing, and this dress wouldn't look out of place on a red carpet. The asymmetric design adds further interest, and the scarf neckline really is incredibly elegant. Worth spending a bit more than you normally would on the high street.
You'll wear this on Christmas Day itself and on repeat in the run-up. I have a Whistles pleated skirt that I've been wearing for years, and it moves beautifully when I walk. It's made from metallic satin, but it actually looks more like velvet, don't you think? Oh, and it's machine washable, too - bonus.
Knitwear
Believe me when I say Fair Isle knits fly off the shelves at this time of year, so don't hesitate if you're a fan of this Traitors-esque jumper. This one is made from 40% wool and will pair beautifully with everything from kilt skirts to your favourite jeans.
Coats & blazers
Trousers & jeans
Bags
If you love The Row's bowling bag but not the price tag, this style will save you around £1,000. More money to spend on Christmas presents!
Shoes & boots
The perfect shoe to wear with jeans and a blazer, these will add a subtle pop of colour to even the simplest of ensembles.
The perfect loafers are hard to come by, and I've been lusting after The Row's soft suede loafers for a while now. For a fraction of the price, these Whistles beauties will elevate your everyday wardrobe instantly.
If you've been waiting for the right moment to invest in some new season pieces, Black Friday could be the perfect opportunity. Whistles is most definitely a brand worth keeping an eye on during the sales, particularly if you're looking to add some Quiet Luxury staples to your wardrobe without forking out a fortune.
From Christmas party outfits to versatile pieces you'll wear well beyond December, keep checking the site for Black Friday offers.
In terms of sizing, Whistles runs from UK 4 to 20, and offers plenty of petite options. I'm always really impressed with the quality, too, and have Whistles pieces in my wardrobe that are still going strong after more than a decade.
