Coleen Nolan's sister, Linda Nolan, made an emotional appearance on Loose Women recently to reveal whether or not her secondary breast cancer had spread.
58-year-old Linda was diagnosed with terminal secondary breast cancer
back in April, having previously suffered from the same disease back in
After suffering with cancer the first time around, Linda was in
remission for six years - but sadly, the disease has returned, and
although it is incurable, Linda and her sisters have maintained that it
And it seems things really are looking up for the fourth Nolan sister, as her latest 'Cancer diaries' installment showed her receiving some test results from her doctor to find out whether her cancer had spread.
Speaking to the camera before the test results came in, she said, "I've had two weeks of radiotherapy. Hopefully he's going to tell me it's reduced and it hasn't spread."
And her wish came true the following day, when her doctor revealed that her cancer had been contained. He told Linda, "Your scan hasn't shown any new soft tissue disease. The cancer hasn't spread. So far it looks good."
As the video segment closed, viewers watched as Linda, who also appeared live on the programme, sat beside her sisters Coleen and Maureen, and was reduced to tears by the emotional clip.
Linda shared, "I'm quite emotional about it myself"
Clearly determined to remain positive, defiant Linda also shared her upcoming work plans, despite her difficult cancer battle.
She told the other Loose ladies, "What I've done is I've started doing my auto-biography. I've got another TV show coming up, and I'm hoping to get out next year."
Earlier this month, Linda spoke about her cancer battle via the first of her 'Cancer diaries', reducing the hosts of the TV show to tears.
Speaking via a pre-recorded video link on the ITV show, she admitted that her recent struggle is most difficult at night, as her husband Brain, who himself died of skin cancer in 2007, isn't there to comfort her.
Tearing up, she confessed, "My husband isn't here. The first time around he would put his arms around me and say, 'It's going to be ok.' And you'd think it is going to be ok because he's here, you know?
"And I do have great support but I still wake up in the night and he's not there and it's a double blow. I do miss that one person you can be 100% raw with, if you like."
She also admitted that when her husband was dying of cancer, she felt so upset that she actually wanted to die with him. But now, the former singer has confessed that she's actually afraid of dying.
Linda said, "I am really scared. I don't want to die. All my little nieces and nephews, my step-children and step-grandchildren, they are my life now because I never had children."
But despite her fears, Coleen Nolan's sister revealed that she wouldn't be taking chemotherapy drugs even if they were able to extend her life for six months. She also voiced her wish to end her life in a hospice.
"I would rather have another three months and not have to go through the side effects and everything."
Following the intensely emotional video from her sister, Coleen was inevitably left in tears. And when asked by Ruth Langsford if she was aware that her sister felt like that, Coleen admitted that she didn't.
The devastating blow to the family comes just four years after Bernie Nolan lost her battle with breast cancer, in July 2013.
