Presenter and radio host Zoe Ball celebrated her 50th birthday in lockdown this weekend, sharing pictures of her virtual party on social media. Whilst the Strictly - It Takes Two star’s birthday is 23 November, that didn’t stop her from getting in the party mood early.

Taking to Instagram, Zoe showed a series of pictures and it’s clear she truly made the most of her lockdown birthday.

How did Zoe Ball celebrate her birthday?

For this milestone occasion all her close family and friends appeared on Zoom to celebrate. She expressed her gratitude at her loved one’s efforts, stating ‘My beloveds have spoilt me HUGE AMOUNTS’ in her caption.

The presenter then joked ‘ain’t no party like a grandma’s tea party’. In the background, eagle-eyed Instagram followers could even spot the faces of her nearest and dearest.

This looks to have included Zoe’s famous father, Johnny Ball, who can just be made out on her screen.

Who made Zoe Ball’s birthday cake?

It seems Zoe wasn’t the only one to showcase this wonderful celebration. The Bearded Foodie, who was the baker responsible for her delicious-looking birthday cake, complete with Etched Studio 'Hot at 50' cake topper, went on to share photos.

The baker captioned the pictures with his own Happy Birthday message and revealed that aside from the spectacular cake, he had also provided brownies for the celebration.

Decorated with pink icing and white chocolate this is a show-stopper any Great British Bake Off contestant would be delighted to produce.

Who else wished Zoe Ball happy birthday?

Amongst the hundreds of comments from well-wishers were those from showbiz friends. Fellow presenter Davina McCall even proposed a night out in belated celebration after restrictions are eased.

The Masked Singer judge wrote: ‘Hey you x lovely lady. Happy birthday. When this is all over and clubs are open let’s go for a good ol knees up!?’

Claudia Winkleman, whose position as host of It Takes Two Zoe secured after Claudia’s move to present the main show, added: ‘HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.’

Zoe was also surprised today as her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show colleagues organised some birthday messages. One of these came from Gardeners’ World presenter Monty Don.

On his recorded message he reportedly joked that, “For someone who was such a party animal in the 90s I also hear that a wild night for you now is curled up on the sofa watching Gardeners’ World with a cup of tea.”

Monty Don then stated that she’s now “discovered where the real party is!”. He wished her a “very, very happy 50th” and suggested she “get out in the garden and plant some tulips”.

The reactions might be very different, but whether Zoe chooses to take Davina up on her offer in the future or plant some tulips, it certainly seems like she’s having a wonderful celebration.
