The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could continue home-schooling Princess Charlotte even when her school re-opens in June.
- Princess Charlotte and Prince George are pupils at Thomas’s Battersea
- The private school is set to re-open on June 1st after coronavirus sparked closures
- The school could bring back Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 first, but Catherine and William want the children to return at the same time
- It follows royal news that The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their wedding anniversary in a surprising way
William and Catherine may make the decision to keep Princess Charlotte off of school, despite her age group expected to be in the first phase to return to school in June.
Thomas’ Battersea are expected to follow government guidelines when they do their phased return – bringing back Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 classes first.
But, although Charlotte (who is in Reception) could technically return at that point, it is thought Prince William and Duchess Catherine could continue to homeschool her until Prince George – who is in Year 2 - can return to school too.
Prince William and Catherine may be the future King and Queen, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t struggled with homeschooling the children like everyone else in lockdown.
Opening up about the experience, Catherine said, “Don’t tell the children, we’ve actually kept it going through the holidays.
“I feel very mean! (laughs). The children have got such stamina I don’t know how."
The Duchess recently opened up about how the family are coping with lockdown life and said they’re relying on technology to keep in touch with loved ones.
"It’s really hard and actually we hadn’t done a huge amount of FaceTime and face calls and things like that, but obviously we’re doing that a lot more now and actually it’s been really great," she said.
"We try and check in daily with family members and speak to them about news and things like that. In some ways I suppose we’ve got a lot more contact and a lot more face time than perhaps we would’ve done before.”
Like most parents, Catherine has struggled explaining the situation to the children: "But it is difficult, it’s hard to explain to a five and a six, nearly seven-year-old, what’s going on.
“But the schools are being great at supporting them as well."
