Sarah Ferguson claims Princess Diana would be 'proud' of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Fergie made the admission on Good Morning America
Sarah Ferguson has revealed the late Princess Diana would be "proud" of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for walking away from the royal family.
- Sarah Ferguson made the admission on Good Morning America.
- The Duchess of York said Princess Diana would be "so proud of her sons and their wives".
- This follows royal news that Prince Charles was seen in Iceland, as fans joke he spotted a great meal deal.
Sarah Ferguson has risked the wrath of the royal family by speaking out about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to step down as senior royals.
The couple quit royal life last year, before going on to share their side of the story during a bombshell tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey—the consequences of which are still rocking the family to this day.
But now Harry's aunt, Sarah Ferguson, has revealed that her former friend, Princess Diana, would be "proud" of her sons, despite rumours of a feud between them.
During an appearance on Good Morning America to promote her new book, Her Heart for a Compass: A Novel, Fergie said, "I wish Harry and Meghan so much happiness. I know Diana would be so proud of her sons and their wives."
It comes after Prince Andrew's ex-wife weighed in on their Oprah interview, saying she's a "great supporter" of the US host.
While most members of the royal family have dodged questions about the explosive interview that saw accusations of racism, Sarah threw her support behind the US TV star.

In an interview with the Telegraph Magazine, Sarah said, “All I want to say on this is that Oprah helped me greatly when I went to the US and was interviewed by her.
“I’m a great supporter of Oprah and everything that she does.”
The Duchess of York was famously interviewed by Oprah back in 1996 following her divorce from Prince Andrew.
At the time she spoke openly about how being part of the royal family isn’t the “fairytale” everyone imagines.
“You didn’t marry the fairytale, you married a man,” she told Oprah. “You fell in love and married a man, and then you have to come to terms with the fairytale.
Harry and Meghan have spoken in detail about the treatment they have experienced from the British press. And Fergie said it's something she and Diana also experienced back in their day.
"It was an extraordinary thing to realize we were selling papers rather than it being real. In the days of Diana and I, it was tough."
