Prince Andrew street could be renamed after Prince William and Kate's children as residents demand change
Locals of Prince Andrew Drive have voiced their dismay over sharing an address with the disgraced royal's name
Residents of Prince Andrew Drive have called for their address to be changed, with one person suggesting that Prince William and Kate Middleton's children's names could be used instead.
- Residents of Prince Andrew Drive in Telford have expressed discontent over the name of their address in light of the Duke of York's sex abuse scandal.
- One local has even suggested that the street be renamed after one of Prince William and Kate Middleton's three children, to ensure the connection to the Royal Family isn't lost.

Locals living on Prince Andrew Drive in Telford, Shropshire, have expressed their desire that their town council changes its name in light of the royal's sex abuse scandal.
The residential street, which can be found outside Birmingham, is one of many addresses in the UK bearing the Duke of York's moniker.
Its inhabitants are now considering writing to the Telford and Wrekin Council to request that the name be changed, with one person suggesting it could be replaced by one of Prince William and Kate Middleton's children's names.
"Maybe they could name it after Prince George, Princess Charlotte, or Prince Louis," they said. They went on to add that they would not consider Sussex—the title held by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—as a suitable option.
"We think it should change,” another resident agreed. “We’ve been thinking about writing to them [the council]. It’s not right that it’s named after him.”
Prince Andrew has been embroiled in a high-profile legal battle since 2019, when he was first been accused of sex abuse by Virginia Giuffre.

The Australian-American campaigner, who was also a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking ring, has alleged that the Duke committed 'sexual assault and battery' against her when she was 17. She is now suing the disgraced royal for damages in a US civil suit, which is expected to go to trial in New York in autumn 2022.
Not everybody is convinced, however, that Prince Andrew Drive needs to be removed.
“We don’t agree with what he might have done, but you can’t keep changing things. You can’t erase history," local Terry Beech said. "He’s still part of the Royal Family.”
