It's only days away, Meghan Markle's 40th birthday, but she's said to be using Oprah's party planner to organize a celebration for her big day.

Meghan Markle will turn 40 on August 4th, so just a matter of days away, and she's bound to be spending the special day with her husband Prince Harry and two children Archie, 1, and newborn Lilibet.

However, according to sources at the Mirror, the Duchess is also organising a low-key celebration, put together by Oprah's party planner, Colin Cowie. The party planner is also a favourite for other well-known stars including Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez.

The low-key affair will see Colin organise grazing tables with food and wine which has been sourced locally -  to fall in line with the Duke and Duchesses sustainability values.

A source told the Mirror: “Megan wants a small gathering. About 65 people are invited, her closest friends and family. Colin was recommended to her by Oprah who always puts on fabulous parties.”

The small party, which could take place in the couples Santa Barbara home and garden, will also see Prince Harry buy a cake for his wife from a popular local bakery, thought to be Meghan's favourite, Posies & Sugar.

Cowie has put on various events for Oprah in the past - including Oprah’s Civil Rights Legends Gala in 2014 and in 2005 an elegant white-tie ball at the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara for Oprah’s Legends Weekend.

The guest list is sure to involve Oprah and other famous US-based friends, including Meghan's best friend Jessica Mulroney.

Even though she has just welcomed a new baby, that hasn't stopped the Duchess of Sussex from working on various projects. Her children's book The Bench was published in June, and a few weeks ago an exciting new Netflix project was announced.

Meghan will be an executive producer on an animated series, called Pearl, following the adventures of a 12-year-old girl, who has been inspired by influential women from history.
