Susanna Reid will be missing from Good Morning Britain for two weeks, as she is self-isolating.

The regular Good Morning Britain presenter took to her social media to reveal that she is currently self-isolating as somebody in her household has demonstrated symptoms of the coronavirus.

‘I am currently well but due to the new advice today I will be self-isolating for two weeks due to symptoms in my household. Stay well everyone’.

Further explaining the situation, Susanna wrote on Twitter, ‘Thank you for the messages.

I am well. One of us here has a cough. Y’day govt advice changed to instruct ALL members of household to isolate where one person had EITHER cough or temperature.

Frustrating, as we can’t get tested. Doing our bit as part of new SUPPRESSION strategy’.

This morning, the news talk show saw regular host Susanna, who usually presents alongside controversial broadcaster Piers Morgan, dial into the show from her home in South London.

Sharing a video of the exchange on their Twitter page, Good Morning Britain wrote, ‘Susanna isn’t with us today, she’s self-isolating for the next 14 days due to symptoms in her family,' quipping, ‘not because of Piers’.

Susanna also confirmed on her Twitter that she ‘will now be broadcasting from home on a regular basis’.

She also admitted she is ‘in the privileged position to be able to comply with government advice, adding, ‘others will find it financially impossible and the isolation/suppression strategy won’t work. Government must address this urgently’.

This comes after the Prime Minister announced a string of new measures yesterday evening that the UK government are taking to try and tackle the global pandemic.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson told citizens that the population should be trying to avoid all “non-essential” travel, should avoid gatherings and crowded places and that if one person in a household has a cough or fever everyone at the address should stay home for two weeks.
