Comedian Sarah Pascoe has been confirmed as the new Great British Sewing Bee host, set to take over from Joe Lycett in the 2022 series.
Stand-up star and TV presenter, Joe, took to social media today to announce his departure from the Sewing Bee.
Telling fans that he won't be returning to the sewing room to oversee this year's sewing artists compete to be crowned the best of the bunch, the Birmingham-born funny man penned, "A bit of news: I loved my journey on @sewingbee but I’ve decided it is time for me to go."

Comedian Sara Pascoe will be taking over as Great British Sewing Bee host for 2022.
Spreading the news of Sara's big new role, Joe wrote, "My friend the great @sarapascoe will be the new host and I know she will be fantastic. Big love to all the brilliant team, and go Sara!"

Meanwhile, a photo of Sara smiling with Sewing Bee judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young was shared on the official social media accounts for the smash hit show, alongside the caption, "We're bursting at the seams with joy that @sara.pascoe will be joining Sewing Bee as our new host. Welcome to the family, Sara! #sewingbee."
Responding to the official welcome, Sara shared her eager anticipation for her latest project, writing, "Beyond excited and very very happy!!"

Why is Joe Lycett leaving Sewing Bee?
Joe hasn't confirmed an official reason for his departure from being Great British Sewing Bee host but fans of the show shared their immense sadness after he confirmed he won't be appearing in the 2022 series.
"This will be great, but first I need a period of mourning for the loss of Joe," one viewer wrote after finding out the news that Sara is taking over.
"Bring back Claudia! 😂😂😂 Looking forward to seeing Sarah though 😊," added another.
"I will miss Joe 😢. Although I am sure Sara will be fab too," one more agreed.
"I still miss Claudia," a fourth penned, referring to Joe's Sewing Bee host predecessor, Claudia Winkleman.
When did Joe Lycett join Sewing Bee?
Joe Lycett started as Great British Sewing Bee host in 2019, taking over from previous presenter, Claudia Winkleman.
Claudia hosted the Sewing Bee from its first series in 2013 to 2016. The show took a break and later returned to the BBC in 2019, with Joe on our screens.
When is Great British Sewing Bee back?
The Great British Sewing Bee will return to screens in 2022, with Sara Pascoe replacing Joe Lycett as host.
The 2021 series began in on April 14th with the Sewing Bee final airing in June, so we can expect next year's series to be with us in the spring.

Where is Great British Sewing Bee filmed?
The Great British Sewing Bee is filmed in East London's Docklands, with the contest taking place in a grade II listed building called The Chainstore on Trinity Buoy Wharf.
The famous sewing room overlooks the Thames, boasts rustic, bare-brick walls and is connected to the only lighthouse in the city of London.
