Kate Garraway's husband Derek Draper remains in a "deeply critical condition" after contracting coronavirus.
The Good Morning Britain host revealed her husband is still in intensive care with coronavirus as she shared a heartbreaking update.
"From the bottom of my heart a billion thank yous to the extraordinary #nhsworkers whose skills, dedication and downright guts in the face of so much personal risk, are keeping my Derek alive, just as they are doing for thousands of covid patients."
Sadly Kate said that while he is still alive, it is still a desperately worrying time for Derek who continues to battle coronavirus.
"I'm afraid he is still in a deeply critical condition, but he is still here, which means there is hope," she said. "Sending so much love and support to the thousands who have had that hope for their loved ones stolen by this hideous disease. You are not along and I hope that helps give you strength to withstand the torture of grief."
In her message Kate went on to thank her own support network for helping her survive what has undoubtedly been a terrifying time for the entire family.
"Thank you, too, to my own little band of 'key workers,' the neighbours who let off fireworks tonight for the #nhs, gave the Easter bunny a helping hand to make life feel a bit more normal for Darcey & Billy, those who have dropped off food, and friends family and all of you who have sent messages of love and support. It's such a comfort. We must all stand together."
Derek was hospitalised and taken to intensive care with a confirmed case of covid-19 just over two weeks ago.
It comes just months after the pair - who have been married since 2005 - revealed plans to renew their wedding vows following Kate's hugely successful stint in the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.
Now the main priority is Derek's health. "We’d planned the wedding for the end of summer, but I don’t suppose we’ll be booking anything now because we don’t really know what we can do," she told Fabulous magazine.
"The wedding is something wonderful to look forward to when this is all over. That’s what we’re trying to do – think of all the good things."
