Jada Pinkett Smith's ex-lover addresses couple's 'entanglement' in new song
Jada Pinkett Smith dated R&B musician, August Alsina, while she was separated from husband, Will Smith, back 2015

Jada Pinkett Smith's former lover, August Alsina, has referred to his relationship with the US actress in a new song.
Another day, another twist in the Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith debacle.
The A-list couple has been at the epicenter of showbiz headlines ever since the King Richard star assaulted host Chris Rock at the Oscars 2022 last month—and it looks like the story isn't going anywhere soon.
Will slapped the 57-year-old comedian on stage over a joke about Jada's alopecia, before returning to his seat and shouting, "Keep my wife's name out of your f**king mouth."
After refusing organizers' requests that he leave the ceremony, the 53-year-old was presented with the Oscar for Best Actor. In his acceptance speech, Will tearfully apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees.
He also said that he was sorry to Chris in an online statement the following day, calling his behavior 'unacceptable and inexcusable.' A video of Jada Pinkett Smith's reaction to the incident has since gone viral, raising questions over the nature of the couple's seemingly complicated marriage.

As the buzz around Chris Rock dies down, it looks like the public's attention has turned to a lesser-known player in this fiasco—August Alsina.
The R&B vocalist, who became involved in an extramarital relationship with Jada in 2015, appears to allude to the affair in his new song, 'Shake the World'.
In the 2:51 minute track, August soulfully sings, "Well, of course, some s**t is bound to go down when you tangled up with the world’s favorite."
The lyric seems to be a direct reference to Jada's description of their romance as an 'entanglement' in her 2020 Red Table Talk episode with Will. During the emotional conversation, The Equalizer star acknowledged that she had had a consensual relationship with August while she was separated from her husband of 23 years.

“It had been so long since I felt good and it was really a joy to help heal somebody,” she said, referring to her experience with the 29-year-old musician.
Jada denied, however, August's claims that he had received Will's 'blessing' to date her.
"The only person that can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself, but what August was probably trying to communicate—because I can actually see how he can perceive it as permission, because we were separated amicably—I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s not a home-wrecker, which he’s not," she said.
