Ingredients
- 2x400g tinned tomatoes
- 400g tinned lentils, drained
- 400g tinned red kidney beans, drained
- 1-2tsps chilli powder
- 3tbsps fried onions or shallots, finely sliced
Method
Place tomatoes, lentils, beans and chilli in a large saucepan
Simmer over a medium-high heat for about 5 minutes or until the sauce has thickened slightly
Stir shallots or onions, leaving a few to sprinkle on the top
Taste and season, adding a little more chilli if it needs it
