The Crown season 4 premiered on Netflix last weekend and already we’re hooked.
With this season bringing to life the highs and lows of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage, its stuck a little closer to home for our Royal Family. Emma Corrin made her debut as the Princess of Wales and has been praised for her portrayal.
Despite this reaction from fans, however, the Kent-born actress has now revealed she would be less than enthusiastic to introduce herself to Prince William and Prince Harry if she were to meet them.

How does Emma Corrin think the Royal Family would react?
Emma Corrin recently spoke to GQ about the idea of Prince William and Prince Harry watching her performance as their mother on The Crown. She exclaimed that she “can’t imagine” what they’d make of it, but that she’s not going to say “it doesn’t matter, because that would be ignorant.”

The actress then went on to sympathise with the princes and the strangeness of the situation. She revealed that, “If someone made a programme about my grandma, who died last year, that would be difficult for me to watch.”
The 24-year-old actress then admitted that she’d be “interested to know what they think”.
Why isn’t Emma Corrin eager to meet the Royal Family?
However when asked about how she would react if she actually got to meet one or both of the princes, Emma seemed to display some shyness.

She joked, "If I ever saw them at a party, I’d probably leave!”
What has the Royal Family said about The Crown?
The Royal Family’s opinions regarding The Crown’s portrayal of their family have remained a constant source of speculation. Insiders reportedly told The Daily Mail that Prince William “feels that both his parents are being exploited” and that they’re “being presented in a false, simplistic way to make money.”
Another source has supposedly told Vanity Fair that “The Queen has no desire to watch herself” in the fictitious TV program.

Whilst the Guardian published a letter from the Queen’s communications secretary last year that clearly stated that The Crown has no endorsement from the royal household.
This letter went on to say that it would “never express a view as to the drama’s accuracy”.
With the Royal Family deciding to keep their thoughts to themselves, viewers are left to enjoy this fictionalised account of their lives and take the events shown with a pinch of salt.
The Crown season 4 was released on Netflix on 15 November.
