Queen’s social media change showcases the future of the monarchy just days after Platinum Jubilee
The Queen's social media change could be seen to honor not only her Jubilee but her beloved family...

The Queen has made a major social media change that could be seen to showcase the future of the British monarchy days after the Platinum Jubilee weekend.
- Her Majesty marked her milestone 70 year reign with a spectacular Platinum Jubilee weekend which ended with a very special moment.
- Taking to the Buckingham Palace balcony, the Queen waved to the crowds and now she’s made a major Twitter change to reflect this.
- This royal news comes as we revealed all of Prince Louis' best Jubilee moments from cheeky balcony faces to sweet chats with the Queen.
After months of anticipation the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations might now be over, but the four-day bank holiday weekend was a once in a lifetime for many and provided plenty of memorable moments. Some of the best Platinum Jubilee moments included the Queen’s great-grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis who attended many of the weekends’ festivities.
But perhaps one of the most iconic times of all was the second balcony appearance from Her Majesty. Dressed in vibrant green, the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee brooch choice paid tribute to Queen Victoria as she waved to the crowds after the Jubilee Pageant.
Now Her Majesty has honored this special moment as a significant update has been made to the Royal Family official social media pages.
Following the end of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations the Royal Family official Twitter account has now updated its profile picture and banner image, whilst their official Instagram account now also has a new profile picture.
Both profile images feature the Queen wearing a stunning powder blue ensemble designed by Angela Kelly as she stood on the Buckingham Palace balcony at Trooping the Color 2022. During this appearance Prince Louis’ sweet moment with the Queen caught people’s eyes and it was a wonderful start to the weekend.
The Twitter banner image in contrast was taken during her final in-person appearance of the Jubilee celebrations when she took to the balcony once again, with an even more select group surrounding her. Her Majesty was joined by just those royals highest in the royal line of succession.

This meant only Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, Prince William, Duchess Kate and their three children were waving alongside her as the celebrations drew to a close. Ahead of the weekend some had suggested that the Queen was set to “send a strong message” with the appearance.
According to The Mirror, royal sources previously suggested that she wished “the world to see the heartbeat of her family and the future of the monarchy”.
If this is indeed correct then the decision to choose one of the photos taken at this appearance for Her Majesty’s new Twitter banner snap could be seen as very significant.
Not only did the balcony appearance showcase the future of the monarchy with the Prince of Wales, his son and eldest grandchild, but now that symbolic moment will be seen by anyone looking at the Royal Family Twitter account’s main page.
The Queen’s social media change could be a lovely way to pay tribute not only to her Jubilee with both her profile picture and banner image, but her love for her family and the line of future monarchs that support her.
