Princess Charlotte looks so much like her 'Gan-Gan', say royal fans. The six-year-old princess is seen in an adorable brand new photo by Duchess Kate to highlight 'extremely important' cause.

Princess Charlotte has been photographed by Duchess Kate in a cute photo that shows the youngster is clearly a lover of mother nature. The image comes as photos of Prince William and Kate's recent secret family holiday showed the whole gang enjoying some well-needed R&R.

The new photo, shared on the Cambridge's official Instagram account is to highlight the importance of butterflies in the ecosystem.

In the photo, the young royal is seen gently cradling Peacock and Red Admiral butterflies. The photos were shared as a part of the Butterfly Count initiative. The initiative,  which is currently going on across the UK, has gained support from Prince William, Kate, and their children; Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

In the photo's caption they say, "We wanted to share these beautiful Peacock and Red Admiral butterflies as part of Big #ButterflyCount initiative taking place across the UK."

They explain, "@savebutterflies are encouraging us all to count these incredible creatures because not only are they beautiful creatures to be around but they are also extremely important." The environmentally conscious family add, "Butterflies are vital parts of the ecosystem as both pollinators and components of the food chain."

In a hopeful finishing statement they say, "Hopefully you can beat last year's total, @savebutterflies 🦋"

Keen-eyed royal fans were quick to notice how much Charlotte looks like her great grandmother the Queen. The resemblance to her great grandmother, who Charlotte and her siblings call 'Gan-Gan', is often mentioned by lovers of all things royal.

One user said, "Lottie - Lilibet's mini me ❤️."

Another said that she's far more like her dad, the heir to the throne Prince William. They said, "Charlotte looks so beautiful. She is the female version of William. Daddy must be very proud of his little girl.😍😍."
