The Princess of Wales and Prince William are focused on giving Prince George, Charlotte and Louis as much of an ordinary upbringing as possible, but they do treat them to experiences that many could only dream of. These range from attending Wimbledon to visiting the Strictly Come Dancing set and Kate helped make another outing particularly special for her daughter.

She reportedly once took George and Charlotte to see the West End production of Mary Poppins in 2022 and according to the show's star, Zizi Strallen, the Princess had a request in store for her.

"Kate brought Prince George and Princess Charlotte to see Mary Poppins," Zizi claimed recently to Hello!. "They came backstage, and she said to me: 'Would it be OK for Charlotte to have a cuddle with Mary Poppins?' I was like: 'Yes!' She wanted to hug me, which was really cute."

This biography paints a portrait of the future Queen, charting her life from her upbringing to the present day. It includes startling new details from inside sources and Andersen reveals Kate’s fight to repair William and Harry’s rift and her bravery after being diagnosed with cancer.

The West End star was nominated for an Olivier Award for her portrayal of the titular nanny and she clearly got the royal stamp of approval too. Charlotte's wish for a "cuddle" with Mary came true and perhaps Kate was more open to asking directly because she'd met Zizi back in 2019.

She was dressed in the full Mary Poppins outfit and got to chat briefly with the future Queen backstage at the Royal Variety Performance. According to Zizi, her reaction was "awkward" because she was so overcome with awe.

"There's a video of me meeting Kate at the Royal Variety Performance in 2019; I'm dressed as Mary Poppins, and as she walks away, I do the most awkward little-girl wave. I was bowled over by how tall, statuesque and stunning she was, and she and William were so normal," she said.

Although this was a memory-making trip for both George and Charlotte, the Prince and Princess of Wales also plan outings with each of their children individually. In 2022 only Prince George went to Wimbledon and his mum apparently explained, "It's George's treat today."

Two years later it was just Princess Charlotte who enjoyed the Wimbledon final with Kate and according to royal expert Ingrid Seward, this was due to a "promise".

"It was a long-held promise that Kate would take Charlotte to the finals as a special treat," claimed to The Sun. "Kate felt guilty she hadn't been able to spend as much time as she would have liked to be with the kids because of her exhaustion after her treatment."

Since then Charlotte and Louis also allegedly enjoyed several outings with Kate as a trio too, including a trip to the ballet in July this year. The royals were reportedly spotted at the Royal Ballet School attending a performance to mark the institution's 100th anniversary.

Soloists from the Royal Ballet performed at the Princess of Wales's carol service in 2024 and Louis helped keep this a secret from his ballet-loving big sister. Kate was supposedly heard discussing this with singer Paloma Faith at the concert, revealing that he'd kept it a surprise for "nearly two weeks".

"And then this morning he said, 'Mummy, please can I tell her - I'm bursting.' I did drop off and he really wanted to tell her. I think - hopefully - he's kept it," she added.
