Kate Middleton is thought to be planning to 'extend an olive branch' to Meghan Markle when she and Prince William visit the US in December.

Kate plans to meet up with Meghan and talk through their issues when she and William visit Boston in December, a source has revealed to US Weekly.

The source explained, “Once Kate and William’s Boston plans are set in stone, she’s planning to extend an olive branch to Meghan in a bid to reunite the brothers and heal the rift."

They added that Kate’s attempt to make amends with Meghan has been brought on because it's what the late Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana “would’ve wanted” for them.

The insider also revealed that as long as she's not too busy with work commitments, Meghan is happy to have a chat with the Prince and Princess of Wales. “[Prince] Harry and Meghan are knee-deep with their hectic schedules, but Meghan is willing to put in the effort as long as dates don’t clash," the source revealed.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are expected to travel to Boston for the second annual Earthshot Prize ceremony in early December.

Meghan opened up about the beginnings of her feud with Kate in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2020, detailing a fall-out over flower girl dresses ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

She said, "A few days before the wedding, [Kate] was upset about flower girl dresses and it made me cry. It really hurt my feelings. It was a really hard week and she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized. And she brought me flowers and a note, apologizing.”

However, Kate Middleton's uncle had his say on the matter when spoke candidly to the Daily Mail, insisting that it's not in Kate's nature to do such a thing.

He said, "I’ve known Kate since she was born, and she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body," he told the news outlet. Then, he went as far as to suggest that if anyone had a "hissy fit," it would've been Meghan.
