Kate Middleton and Prince William spotted at local pub for cozy lunch date after work

Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Prince and Princess of Wales, were spotted enjoying lunch at a local Windsor pub.

Since becoming the Prince and Princess of Wales, Kate and William have been inundated with royal engagements. However, one royal fan has revealed that the Prince and Princess still make time for a mid-week lunch date. On November 9, a tweet revealed that an OBE awardee spotted the royal couple in a pub as they made time in their diary to spend quality time with one another on a Tuesday. 

"Congratulations to our chair, Maggie Saxton, who received her OBE from Princess Anne at Windsor Castle yesterday. Maggie was thrilled to attend the ceremony and in particular, to find herself sitting beside the Prince and Princess of Wales in the local pub afterwards!" read a tweet from North East Learning Trust.

Fans loved this for the royal couple and many congratulated Maggie for her incredible award and exciting day. "Congratulations to Maggie! Nice trifecta seeing The Princess Royal then the Prince and Princess of Wales. What a memorable day," said one commenter on social media.

"Congratulations Well deserved and such lovely memories to cherish too," said another. "Congratulations to Maggie what a wonderful way to celebrate this achievement.. a memory to treasure forever," said yet another.

It is clear that the royal couple opts for midweek dates not just so they can have a low-key date, but also because their schedules are constantly filled with royal engagements that don't just occur from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday.

The weekend before this alleged pub trip, on Saturday, November 5, Princess Catherine met with applause as she brightens up a rainy day in Alexander McQueen coat as she attended England’s Rugby League World Cup quarter-final clash against Papua New Guinea.

Just a few days later, Prince William said 'disappointment is a part of life' during an honest chat about his mental health with some footballing legends. 

This isn't the first time that royals have been spotted having a low-key pub trip. Prince William and Kate Middleton were spotted enjoying this very traditional meal with George, Charlotte, and Louis in Norfolk. 

Much like the pub in Windsor where the couple was spotted this week, the pub they previously visited with their children is close to their Norfolk home, Anmer Hal. This makes it the perfect spot for the Prince and Princess to stay out of the spotlight and take their three children to enjoy burgers and chips, like a normal family.
