Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's final farewell revealed in 'out of office' message
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's out of office has been switched on as they officially walk away from life as senior royals.
- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex officially stepped down on March 31st
- Their 'out of office' reads: 'Many thanks for your email. The office for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has now closed.'
- It comes after their decision to step back from the limelight and pursue a more 'peaceful' life with Archie
- It follows royal news that Prince Charles spoke out for the first time since contracting coronavirus
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially waved goodbye to life as senior royals - and no job exit is complete without the final "out of office" message.
Just one day after their time as senior working royals came to a close, the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's automated response has emerged.
The message reads, "Many thanks for your email. The office for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has now closed."
It comes just days after Meghan, 38, and Harry, 35, thanked their Instagram followers for their "support" and "inspiration" in a touching final Instagram post. And vowed to continue their charity mission away from the spotlight.
"While you may not see us here, the work continues. Thank you to this community - for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world," they said. "We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great! Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another."
Historically the couple have signed their posts off from "Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex" - but this last one reflects a new change as they simply wave goodbye as "Harry and Meghan".

While Harry and Meghan have not been stripped of their HRH titles, it is thought they will no longer actively use them. And this new sign off seems symbolic of their desire to move forward and live a more private life with son Archie.
Citing their reasons for making the shocking decision to step back at the beginning of the year, Harry said, "But I hope that helps you understand what it had come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known, to take a step forward into what I hope can be a more peaceful life.
"I was born into this life, and it is a great honour to serve my country and the Queen."
While the initial plan was to relocate to Canada, the couple have since decided to move to California.
