Camilla Parker Bowles has stirred alarm with her latest royal engagement, after observant fans noticed a tremor while watching the future Queen Consort.
The worrying detail comes just three weeks after Duchess Camilla tested positive for COVID-19, and less than a fortnight before her upcoming trip to Ireland with Prince Charles.
The 74-year-old hosted a reception at Clarence House in London on Tuesday in honor of International Women's Day 2022, for her first in-person celebration of the occasion in two years.
The event was attended by a guest list of 90 inspirational women, including Spice Girl turned Women's Aid ambassador Mel B, and Inna Prystaiko, the wife of Ukrainian ambassador Vadym Prystaiko.
Fawzia Amini, Ferozan Easar Qasimi, and Alia Popal, who worked as judges in Afghanistan before the Taliban's takeover of the country in August 2021, were also present.
Camilla was also joined by British actress Emerald Fennell, who earned an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of the Duchess in The Crown. The occasion saw the Queen's daughter-in-law acknowledge the popular Netflix drama for the first time in public, after years of speculation about the Royal Family's opinion on it.

"It is reassuring to know that, if I should fall off my perch at any moment, my fictional alter ego is here to take over—so, Emerald, be prepared!” Camilla quipped during a speech to her mostly female audience.

While this joke was clearly meant in jest, it also seemed to draw attention to Camilla's notably less-than-sturdy stature. Royal fans were quick to point out that the Duchess’ hand was shaking as she delivered her speech, prompting widespread theories over the cause of the tremor.
“It could be something called Essential Tremor. Very common. Mine developed when I was 15 years old,” one person suggested.
“It could also be from stress, her hand shaking holding a glass whilst mixing with her guests, it happens,” another fan offered.
Duchess Camilla's health has remained a mostly private issue throughout her service as a working royal, with the exception of a couple of minor setbacks over the past three decades.
