The National Television Awards

See who wore what at last night's star studded award ceremony.

It was an emotional win for the Downton cast last night, as they scooped their last ever NTA. The final series was named Best Drama, beating the likes of Broadchurch, Doctor Who and Casualty. The show’s creator Julian Fellowes took the stage with cast members Hugh Bonneville and Laura Carmichael and simply stated; ‘You know I love happy endings and this is a very happy ending. Thank you.’

Doctor Foster actress Suranne Jones was among the other winners, picking up the award for Best Drama Performance. She also confirmed her pregnancy on the red carpet – this will be her first baby with husband Laurence Akers.

Ant and Dec did it AGAIN as they won the award for Best TV Presenters. Last night marked their fifteenth NTA in a row. Although they were more than happy to have received the prize Ant did add that ‘It’s getting a bit mental now’.

Reality star Vicky Pattison accepted the gong for I’m A Celebrity, which won the award for Best Entertainment Programme. The cast soon gathered to pose with their trophy.

The Great British Bake Off also scooped a win for Best Challenge Show, while Poldark’s Aidan Turner accepted the Impact Award. Slightly baffled, but very grateful he said; “Thank you, I’m slightly confused, I didn’t know I was nominated for this award. I didn’t know there was an Impact Award. I’m not sure why I’m here, I’m glad to be, and who knows, this might be the only one I get so I’m delighted.”

The prestigious award ceremony took place at London’s O2 Arena, and was presented by Dermot O’Leary. All the awards were voted for by the British public.
