Sex and the City fans, listen up—its revival is about to bring some serious drama.

Ever since Sarah Jessica Parker revealed the first photo from the set of the Sex and the City reboot, we've been counting down the days till its highly-anticipated release. And Just Like This will see the iconic cast of the hit HBO show reunite for 10 episodes after an eighteen-year-long television hiatus—and viewers are more than ready.

Updates on the revival have been pouring into the public sphere on an almost weekly basis since filming commenced in Spring 2021, giving fans an exciting insight into how New York's most famous girl squad has evolved over the past two decades.

And while the show's storylines and fashion have undeniably been hot topics for its cult following (you can even shop the exact looks from the Sex and the City reboot), there's been one question that's been on everyone's lips—the characters.

Which characters are returning for the Sex and the City revival?

Fans were undeniably disappointed to hear that Kim Catrall (Samantha) had been written out of the Sex and the City reboot, but it looks like there will be plenty of familiar faces to soften the blow. Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Kristin Davis (Charlotte), and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) will be joined by a litany of beloved characters from the original series in And Just Like That, including Steve Brady, Harry Goldenblatt, and Anthony Marentino.

As for the revival's romantic interests, the writers have decided to play it safe and stick with old favorites. Chris Noth will resume his role as the legendary Mr. Big, Carrie's most prominent love interest and eventual husband. To add some friction to the mix, John Corbett is confirmed to return for the Sex and the City reboot. The American actor and country singer played Carrie's long-term boyfriend on the show, and had even been engaged to her at one point.

If that wasn't enough drama, it has recently emerged that Natasha—a.k.a. Mr. Big's ex-wife—will also be returning for the show. Bridget Moynahan, who joined Sex and the City in its second season, was spotted by an eagle-eyed fan shooting And Just Like That on 19 July, much to the delight of the franchise's fans. Dressed in character on the Soho set, the American actress could be seen laughing with producers and getting out of a black car.

HBO has yet to confirm whether or not Natasha has officially signed onto the reboot, but unless it's Halloween, we think it's safe to say she'll be back on our screens soon.

What can we expect from Sex and the City reboot storylines?

With producers of And Just Like That remaining relatively hush-hush about the storylines for the reboot, fans have been doing some detective work of their own. The cast of Sex and the City has been spotted on location in New York multiple times over the past months, treating viewers to a sneak peek of what's to come on the revival.

Perhaps the most shocking preview was footage of a group of extras dressed in black, suggesting a death will feature in one of the episodes. The Sex and the City reboot video of the funeral scene had Samantha fans in serious denial after rumors circulated her character had been killed off, a plot twist that would dash all hopes of the four best friends reuniting.

There's also been plenty of fashion spoilers as the characters step out onto the streets of Manhattan for the first time in thirteen years. Fans were divided when Carrie was spotted in a Forever 21 maxi dress, a far cry from her usual designer outfits. The low-cost paisley gown, which was paired with an Oxford blue shirt, left some viewers worried that the shopaholic had dropped her signature high-end standards.

Sarah Jessica Parker has also been active on her social media throughout the filming process, sharing lots of fun updates and teasers with her legion of followers. Just last week, she posted a loved-up photo from the SATC set of Carrie and Big, sending fans into a state of feverish anticipation.

She has also given a behind-the-scenes glimpse of production, showing off the Sex and the City backlot—which includes a series relic longtime viewers will likely go wild for.

When is the Sex and the City revival release date?

Another question that everybody wants the answer to—when will the Sex and the City revival air? Unfortunately, the release date has yet to be confirmed, but with filming in full swing, it's expected to hit screens sometime in late 2021.
