If you loved The Split or were glued to Anatomy of a Scandal, you are going to love War.
Starring Sienna Miller and Dominic West, this sexy new legal drama whisks us into the world of high-stakes celebrity divorce. Bear with me now - it's not all beautiful people throwing things and slamming doors. It's much more glamorous and binge-worthy than that.
Think vicious rivalry, scandal-aplenty and explosive courtroom showdowns. Oh, plus some of our all-time favourite names from the acting world and, of course, Sienna sporting an absolutely A-class wardrobe that we're already keen to copy.
Here is everything you need to know about the new show, including how to watch War from anywhere in the world.
How to watch War in the UK
If you're in the UK and have a TV licence, you can watch War on Sky Atlantic.
The first series is made up of eight episodes, with each new instalment released weekly on Fridays in the UK, broadcast at 9pm on Sky Atlantic. The finale airs on November 20.
If you prefer to stream on your own schedule, episodes will be available on catch-up via Sky, as well as on a NOW Entertainment Membership (which starts from £4.99 a month). Alternatively, you can catch it on the newly launched HBO Max UK service, which is included free with Sky TV plans or available as a standalone subscription from £5.99 a month.
How to watch War from anywhere in the world
Jetting off for a cheeky autumn getaway? Nothing ruins a Friday night binge-watch quite like a geo-blocking error message. If you're travelling abroad, your usual streaming apps might not work, but you can easily get around this with a VPN.
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a handy little app that changes your device's location to make it look like you're sitting right back at home on your sofa, allowing you to access your UK subscriptions securely.
We recommend NordVPN. It’s incredibly easy to use, highly secure, and currently offers up to 75% off plus 3 extra months free.
Our sister site, TechRadar, has tested all of the major VPN services and they rate Nord to be the absolute best.
They say, "It’s compatible with all of your devices, supports most streaming services, and ranks among the fastest. You can even install it on devices like an Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Xbox, and PlayStation. So for a one-stop-shop, you can’t go wrong with Nord."
Watch TV as if you were in the UK with a VPN. Offering a 30-day money-back guarantee, try out NordVPN, and stream from any device, including your mobile or tablet, laptop, TV, or gaming console. Also boasting some top-of-the-class security, it's a no-brainer. Run into any problems? NordVPN has an excellent customer support team on hand 24/7.
If you've never installed a VPN before, don't worry, it's quick and easy. Just follow these three steps:
- Download and install the VPN following NordVPN's easy-to-follow instructions.
- Once you've installed your VPN, open the app and select your server location as anywhere in the UK.
- Head to your Sky, NOW or HBO Max app and stream War exactly as you would at home.
If you're reading this from outside the UK, here's what you need to know about streaming War:
- United States: Premiered Thursday, 1 October at 9pm ET/PT on HBO and HBO Max (from $10.99/month). Top tip: US viewers can actually watch the first few episodes for free by using the 5-day free trial on YouTube TV (which includes the HBO Max add-on).
- Canada: New episodes drop every Thursday from 1 October on Crave (from CA$11.99/month).
- Australia: Tune in via HBO Max (from $11.99/month), with episodes landing weekly from Friday, 2 October.
What is War about?
Set in London, War centres on the bitter, high-profile divorce between an A-list film star (Miller) and her tech entrepreneur husband (West). But the drama isn't just between the couple. The show takes us behind closed doors at two rival law firms – Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne – who are fighting it out on opposite sides of the settlement.
The first season unfolds over eight juicy episodes, and the creators are so confident it's going to be a hit that a second season is already in the pipeline.
