GBBO winner and certified Royal cake-baker Nadiya Hussain is now getting her own TV cookery show.
The programme, ingeniously titled The Chronicles of Nadiya, sees Hussain trace her culinary roots whilst cooking for family and friends.
In the two-part travel cookery show, Hussain will visit her birthplace of Luton and rural Bangladesh to cook meals from her childhood.
This will be Hussain’s first trip to Bangladesh in ten years, when she travelled to the country for her wedding. She’ll be learning about changes in the Bangladesh food scene and acquiring new recipes to share with loved ones.
The spin-off show will be created by Love Productions, the company behind The Great British Bake Off.
Patrick Holland, the BBC’s head of documentaries commissioning, said: “Nadiya’s story on Bake Off touched the hearts of the nation. We are delighted that she will be using her cooking skills to take us on a journey to such an extraordinary and changing land.”
It’s been a busy month for the GBBO champion, who only last week presented the Queen with an orange drizzle cake for her 90th birthday.
We can’t wait to see what Nadiya cooks up next!
